The hamster started chewing through this immediately. Three days later and the back wooden bar was destroyed. Then, when I tried to return it Target wants it in a box and delivered to a store- the thing is not small and already built. How am I suppose to return this??

As you can see from the other reviews, half of the time this cage arrives damaged in some way. And even if it doesn’t, it just isn’t sturdy enough for the price. I wouldn’t buy this if you can avoid it. It’s cheaply made and came with some pretty big cracks in the wood. Luckily they were on the outside of the enclosure but still. Also only half of the holes were drilled already, I had to drill the rest. I’ll definitely have to sand the wood myself too.

this was a fantastic cage, very easy to build, easy to follow, and my ham loves it there is however a very strong odor it isnt toxic smelling but it was overwhelming for my ham when i first introduced him it is very resilient to biting and chewing, but im worried there could be chemicals in it that could harm him really great, otherwise, would scale it 8.7/10

The cage is really nice, however, I would redesign it so there is a good place to fit the water and a wheel.In our case, I got rid of a few of the upper slats of wood and drilled a hole to it's side to fit the water bottle.

Perfect for hamsters, adult mice, and little rodents, My mice love running around their lil home! Arrived in good condition to, and not hard to put together.

I bought this for my daughters guinea pigs, the size is great but it was scraped in some places and part of the wood was broken. I nailed it back down and glued it for extra support. The directions are confusing and it would have been great for the screws to be labeled. I thought of returning it, but I was able to fix the issues myself.

The instructions weren’t the most clear and some of the wood panels came broken with other pieces missing. It looked like I had gotten a return with pieces missing. It takes a while to set up, but overall had a nice layout:

My tween assembled this and has set it up as a gorgeous hamster habitat. It vastly surpasses other cages we have tried. It was mostly easy to put together but one part was tricky and took a bit of force/parental help. She left out the large platform to have more room for bedding and that works fine (the smaller upper platform is being used). The tray at the bottom is meant for easy cleaning but if you use an appropriate amount of bedding you just have to reach in from the top and the drawer isn't really used¡ªthe top opens from a hinge at the back so that's easy enough. The drawer has a small gap at the back, too, where bedding (and hamster stuff) can fall through to the floor below, so we put down layers underneath the cage for protection (and it's big enough that we can't easily check underneath so I hope the layers of plastic we put under it are working!). It's a fine looking cage and a very nice home (a palace!) for your hamster and we would definitely recommend this for your pets!

Just put it together for our dwarf hamster and we all LOVE it. It has SOOOO much space for him to run around with the levels. Plenty of space to run and hide or even burrow if there¡¯s enough bedding

It's definitely good enough for my Uromastyx and holds heat well.

Thought this would be great for my handsome, Syrian Hamster and it's perfect! He absolutely loves it! Plenty of space for him to play and burrow ?

My hamster loves the cage, but it came with no holes. I broke two drill bits drilling pilot holes. It was horrible to put together. The shelves dont perfectly line up. Also, I didn't notice when I bought it, but it doesn't have a place for a water bottle. For as much money as I spent, I'm a little annoyed.

Not all the parts fit together properly, but I made it all work. Good for hamsters of all sizes. But it doesn't give enough space for 6inch of bedding so I just only used 1 level

Love thos cage and so does my hamster. I put the door on top so I could give her a burrow space. my son and I was able to put together. Took 2 hours. Easy to clean and all I cam say is do your research if you are going to build a healthya space for your hamster. I am very pleased with my cage and would definitely buy again.

Firstly we got it in 2 days it was super fast. My daughter and I (Non-handy mom) set it up in no time. It was very easy. It looks very nice. Only thing I don't like is the very back has a peace of wood that I understand it is part of the support but it leaves half an inch space between the bottom rack and the back wall and the hamster is very happy peeing and pooing there. It's not easy to wash that area unless I turn it sideways. And also the top floor is very close to the mesh at the top, it allow the hamster to climb and hang from it, making it dangerous as it has fallen to the bottom floor twice now. Wish the top had part plexy glass and part mesh to avoid this from happening. I recommend getting a wheel too.

I love the amount of space this cage gives and I took out the first shelf and placed the larger shelf on the top level so I couldn??t have plenty of burrow room, which this cage allows :) It also looks super cute. I also painted the wood with plastic ore to protect it for longer hopefully, and it was chipped in some places but overall a good cage.

My son's Hampter was unfortunately able to chew his way out from this cage. If that didn't happen, I would definitely rate this item very high. RIP Little friend

Love this! Was exactly what I was expecting if not a bit bigger (may need more bedding) however I have just put Billie into him new cage and he loves it and has started burrowing instantly! 5*
