Guests are saying
The Origins Checks and Balances Milky Oil Cleanser has garnered mixed feedback from guests. While many appreciate its gentle formula and ability to remove makeup effectively, others have found it thick and less effective, particularly for eye makeup. The product is praised for leaving skin soft and hydrated, making it a suitable option for those with sensitive skin. However, some guests experienced irritation and felt it required multiple applications for thorough cleansing.

It's okay
I bought this because I like the Checks and Balances face wash. It works fine to take makeup off but I don't the bottle design or smell. I will use it up but will go back to DHC oil cleanser.

Pass
Ive semi recently gotten into oil cleansers and came by this the other day in store. On a whim i purchased it and ill be returning it. Ive used it day and night for a few days now and i can say im not impressed. Previously i was using Anuas cleansing oil and ill probably return to that bottle today. Origins is so thick it doesnt spread well. I had to reapply twice to get my makeup off and i dont use thick makeup. I dont wear foundation, aome light under eye from ilia, light mascara and some blush. But it would not get the mascara off. Makeuo removal for ouls is the easiest thing ive ever tried and the fact this took two times over was just ridiculous. Do not recommend, maybe if you just plan on using it in the morning since you dont typivally need heavy cleansing that time of day.

Others Are Better
I was very hopeful for this product, but I found it to be kinda mediocre for a bi-phase cleanser. 1. I found that it did not do anything for the sebaceous filaments on my nose (waxy round "plugs" from my nose pores), while other first step oil cleansers are effective at removing them. I ended up using a 3rd step mith a microexfoliant (which I never use) after my 2nd cleanser, and basically ended up irritating my skin. 2. It is terrible for removing eye makeup because it is so irritating. I kept my eyes tightly closed to remove mascara but my eyelids became red and swollen using this anyway. I thought the ingredients sounded so great but I don't think I can use this because of how much it hurts my eyes. It might be OK for some people, so I give it 2 stars.

Changed
For years I used Origins Clean Energy cleansing oil and I LOVED it. Gently removed make up and left my skin super smooth and hydrated. No idea why they stopped making it. Check and Balances is useless. I now use Super Facialist Vitamin C Cleansing Oil which is similar to your Clean Energy. Almost as good and a fraction of the price!

Irritating
I don't have sensitive skin at all, but this oil irritated the skin around my eyes. It was too painful to continue so I quickly washed it off and used my HG oil, which is gentle. I can't say I recommend this because I couldn't even get past the burning to see if it removed my eye makeup.

Eww
It's a yikes from me. I've really tried to like it and forced myself to use it multiple times, besides the fact that it feels awful, it doesnt remove makeup well at all, especially around eyes. I got it for 50% off during 21 days of beauty and I feel like I still overpaid. I have to use makeup remover and a 2nd/3rd cleanse of anither product to remove the makeup. Better and cheaper cleansers out there that actually work.

Feels better than it works
It makes my skin soft but I still need micellar to get off mascara even after a good scrub.

Fantastic product
This is the best product for removing makeup I've ever used, apply to your face, massage in and remove with a warm flannel. Skin feels great.

I would not buy this product again
DFails to effectively eliminate eye makeup, resulting in persistent dark circles. Provides a satisfactory sensation on the skin and effectively removes light foundation, but struggles with heavier makeup.

It's just so so !!
This oil is pretty greasy! It felt really heavy compared to other make up removal facial oils that have used in the past. Did not care for the smell. This oil has a weird scent to it.

Not even close to good
Smells really bad. Not like off-putting, but I wonder every time I use it if it's gone bad or even safe to put on my skin. Doesn't glide along skin smoothly so you have to keep applying more and more. I love the Checks and Balances foaming cleanser so I thought this would be a hit. Can't be used around eyes like others say. This one product has basically turned me off from the whole brand. I feel bamboozled. There are cheaper oil cleansers that don't smell like burning tires and don't burn your eyes. Pass.

It does the job 80-90%
I've been using this for a couple months now. Most of my make up does come off pretty easily. I am impressed on how well it loosens my makeup around my eyes. Sometimes I need wipe off the remaining makeup with cleansing wipes (I use the Burts Bee's brand).
