DISGUSTING- strong MILDEW smell and DIRTY

Purchased 2 of the 10’x10’ silver rug. Both rugs were DISGUSTING. They were shipped with only a heavy paper wrapped around them, no plastic or anything to protect the rug. I ordered them one at a time- I only purchased a second because the first was so bad. The rug itself was dirty with a very strong musty/mildew smell. It actually triggered an asthma attack for me within minutes of opening. I purchased it a 2nd time hoping that it was just a one-off, but the 2nd one was exactly the same. Dirty and reeked of mildew. Returning both. Absolutely disgusted that a rug would be shipped like this, let alone at this price point.

Not the Dimesnions I Paid For

I ordered an 8x8 and am missing half a foot by one measurement. It’s 7’6” x 7’9”. Why would I measure for and pick out an 8x8 rug if I can’t rely on it actually being the size advertised?

Really thick and comfy, but the light gray/ivory is significantly darker than the picture. For reference in my pictures, I posted the floors are dark gray hardwood. The rug next to the Safavieh is what I consider Ivory. Definitely need a rug gripper, super slippery

Love this rug, so soft to walk on. My only complaint is that I got one where there is a visible line that shows and I thought it would fix itself after time but has not. It looks like a line of material is missing.

Here are a few suggestions you may want to consider for reducing the creases, waves, wrinkles, and or kinks: 1. Back rolling or reverse rolling the rug - Unroll the carpet and roll it up again in the opposite direction. To keep it secure, place heavy furniture on the rug while back-rolled/reverse-rolled to keep it from unraveling. (Leave it back rolled for 1-3 days). 2. Refer to our video on how to unpack, unroll, straighten and flatten your new rug -How to Straighten an Area Rug - Safavieh- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A4L4pCNS5U 3. Refer to our additional video on how to remove creases - How to Remove Creases from Indoor-Outdoor Rugs. 4. Use indoor rug/carpet tape- tape down the corners of the rug to secure and flatten the ends of your rug. 5. For folded corners, the best thing to do is to fold the corners under and let them rest for several days. 6. Place the rug on a hard flat floor instead of a carpet while it relaxes. 7. Use a rug pad to prevent slipping and sliding – Rug Pads. 8. Use a rug gripper for hardwood flooring. 9. Vacuum the rug where the creases are located. 10. Simply allow ample time for your rug to settle. In most cases, all you need to do is lay your Safavieh rug flat, and the waves/wrinkles/creases will even themselves out. 11. Use indoor double-sided carpet tape to tape down the rug to secure and flatten the ends of your rug (This will prevent bunching and buckling). o You want to run the tape along the perimeter and put an X through the middle of the rug from corner to corner this will secure the rug. *These creases/waves/bumps/wrinkles/kinks will normally flatten out on their own so in most cases, you can simply allow ample time for your rug or runner to settle. Be patient and let those kinks work themselves out.

This is my favorite rug

Since getting this rug 6 months ago, we have received so many compliments from men and women and all age groups. Its a very neutral color (we chose the multi) but feels fresh and updated. Its something I would buy over and over. One caveat, it does shed for a while. Just plan for that and no regrets!
