About the Book
Growing up is a vague term and different for everyone. My story is about having multiple father figures and an appetite for food. Traveling while schooling in Miami was hard for a little girl. I got to see the world through my aunt's eyes. My grandmother loved food and was great to be around. My mother was always waiting for us with open arms.
Book Synopsis
As a highly sensitive person (HSP) these are my thoughts and reflections as I saw the world around me and as I perceived things to be. As an adult I see why I have been misunderstood and perceived as difficult. The nature of an HSP is different. It is genetic. I saw things different. This book is for ages 18-35. Young girls can relate and the events in our lives that we let define us and we overcome and survive. We have influences and perspectives from adults, parents, and friends, and then our demon and friendly voices that all fight for a place in this big world. A little girl fighting demons, emotional neglect from parents, cannot create an HSP but it can contribute to more difficult understandings of self and unnecessary hardship. Even if parents provide for their children and they have everything they need, being emotionally neglected for a child that is a highly sensitive person is almost as having nothing at all, so search for self becomes even more complicated than if parents are able to provide emotional support.
