Introducing Stage Right by Monoprice STARQUAD XLR Microphone Cables. These are Pro-Grade, balanced microphone cables, commonly used to carry low-level signals. Microphones produce very low level signal feeds, which are easily susceptible to magnetic interference. Microphone outputs must be amplified and when a microphone feed is amplified, any interference will also be amplified. Stage Right STARQUAD XLR Microphone Cables' four cores are very tightly twisted with each other and rotate over a relatively short length, very similar to what is found in an Ethernet cable. I would have given this cable a five star rating, but they tied Pin 1 to the XLR shell (chassis) on both ends of a cable! This will lead to ground loops and interference, defeating the purpose of a ground lift on a DI box or other audio gear. Pin 1 of the XLR connector is the designated ground/shield pin, and its connection to the cable's shield should be made at the equipment chassis to avoid injecting noise into the audio circuit. I had to cut the pin 1 connection to the connector's chassis on both sides. This is freakin' bananas! If Pin 1 is tied to the shell at both ends of the cable, any ground lift function will not work, as the circuit is still completed through the shell.

Good Professional Quality

These are high quality cables both in the mechanical and electrical aspects. The cable it's self has a "Professional" feel t them. AND an awesome warranty!

An excellent product. The 24 awg wire size allows the cable to be very flexible and to not cause unnecessary strain on the connected devices. The star quad wire arrangement is a nice bonus.

Inexpensive Balanced Inputs

Bought a pair of these in 3’ length to add some surround channels to my HT system. They worked just fine at a reasonable price for my requirements. Not as well made of my primary balanced inputs but they do the job!
