Description

Monoprice Onix Series Cable is made from premium quality RG-6/U with double copper braid shielding to prevent signal degradation caused by EMI and RFI interference. Featuring a two gold plated RCA male connectors on each end, this cable is ideal for conducting line level RCA audio signals from a CD player, record player, or analog media device to an AV receiver or amplifier. The plastic cable jacket has been encased within braided nylon, which resists nicks and cuts without reducing cable flexibility. Additionally, the braided jacket gives a premium appearance over that of ordinary plastic jackets. The CL2 rating on this cable indicates that the jacket has been treated so that it complies with fire safety regulations, making it safe for use in or through the walls of residential class buildings.     Nice, but

    Excellent cable

    Excellent cable. This cable is used for a pre-amp to amplifier connection on my home entertainment system. I like that these can lock in place on the RCA connector.

    Excellent Build Quality!!!

    I returned them because I wanted balanced audio. However when I had them, they are very well built and think. They do bend fine as I didn?t experience what others experienced. The locking doesn?t work all the time, but it does secure it to the RCA connector. Great all around and heavy for a RCA cable. If I didn?t have XLRs in my amp I would keep these. No need to spend $25+ per cable.

    Because both ends of the cable look exactly the same, you can?t tell left from right connection. Also, cable is STIFF. It sounds fine, which is what matters most. Looking for refinement? You?ll have to pay extra for that.

    Good quality interconnection, sound quality seems as good or better than anything I have tried. Definitely worth the price. Yes they are stiff so make sure you have room behind your equipment. The ability to tighten and loosen the rca is a real plus to avoid damaging your equipment.

    I had just bought some new, higher-end equipment and wanted to get some fresh cables that at least felt like an upgrade to the cheesy cables included with equipment. Several online reviews later I believed that cables are important but not to go crazy as the law of diminishing returns applies heavily in this field. These Onix cables looked the part and had a price point that made me feel like they were an upgrade but not silly so I bought them. My new equipment sounds great and I'm super thrilled with the sound. If that's all on the equipment, fine but I'd like to think the cables play a part in my happiness. Good on Monoprice for making a product that looks and feels high-end without breaking the bank. Kudos.

    Great Cables for the Price

    I Love the look of these cables but they are not very flexible and takes a minute to get them set the way I want. For the Price they are very good. They have a feature where you loosen the connector then when you connect it you tighten them up so they don't get disconnected. Recommended for use on the Liquid Spark.

    These are nice looking cables. Very sturdy and sounds great. Currently hooked up to my Bifrost 2 and Lyr 3. No problems with fit whatsoever. Those who complained about being too tight of a fit obviously didn't turn to loosen up the connectors at the end. Hook up and retighten. It's not rocket science. Monoprice really needs to expand their Onix series cable line. Would love to see an Onix version of a USB cable. These are my go to RCA cables and would definitely order again if I need more. Wouldn't even think twice about it.

    Very disappointing

    Wires are very stiff and both connectors are identical with a red band which makes distinguishing left and right difficult. It wasn't even worth taking into work to measure on an LCR meter for specs. Would not recommend. I'll stick with Blue Jeans Cable and their Belden LC-1 wire in the future.

    Fit could be better

    The wires look extremely nice but the fit is not perfect. Some of the connections were too loose and others too tight. I had to adjust the prongs for a good fit on my amp and line driver.

    Would not plug into RCA output. Either defective or WAY too tight

    I've been into audio for 20 years and have never come across a cable like this. The quality seems good, however when i went to plug them into the back of a Crown pro amp RCA input they would not plug in. Even with a lot of force they wouldn't go. I realize these are tight connectors, but if you have cheaper audio gear and tried to force these onto RCA inputs/outputs, you might break them. Asked for a refund. Monoprice is hit or miss with quality audio cables. I've had better luck with HDMI cables, but I've had a handful of audio cables either stop working, or did not work from the beginning.

    Seems like good build quality. I like how the cable tightens onto the rca jack for a tight fit that won't come loose and will fit snug on a variety of rca jacks (which ought to be, but often aren't the same size). Braided jacket is a nice touch. I wish the ends were color coded. Both ends have red rings. It would be nice if one of those were white. I almost thought it was a mistake, but it matches the pictures.

    Excellent quality!

    I purchased these to connect my preamp to my AV receiver to run my home theater system, and they have been incredible. Extremely well made, these things are solid. Amazing connection at the source, strong but flexible cables, and look pretty cool as well! For the price, as always with Monoprice, there is no better option out there!

    Very Good Quality

    I use a 6' pair to go from my Lounge Audio phono pre-amp to the turn table and then to the amp. These work very well, look good, and the connectors are great. Wire gauge, insulation, etc. are perfect. Don't worry about buying these, for the money, these are great RCA cables.
