[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Monopoly APP is great game for teenagers. My son 13 and daughter thinks that it's cool game. No real money, but you have to use your phone to scan Q codes. It's took a while to learn all, but when you know how to play, it's fun. Sadly it was to complicated for my 6 year old daughter, so she was excluded from family fun. Quality figures, board, colours made it all spot on. Very eye catching game and endless fun. Highly recommend for family's with older children.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We think the new Monopoly App Banking is great. It is all done on one phone with the app that goes with the game, scanning QR codes on the different properties, cards you put in the middle (train, question mark etc) and on your bank card. I love the characters being made out of metal and being different colours. It's quite a fast paced game and finishes after all properties are sold. The visuals and sounds on the app are brilliant and what you would expect from monopoly. The app then totals up your money, the cost of your properties and any bonuses you've earned and reveals the overall winner. We really enjoyed playing this as a family this Christmas Eve. The only things I think could be improved are: When you're on your turn and you land on a property, you then have to scan the property card and get the option to auction or buy the property. Then if you choose to buy the property you have to scan your bank card, but we feel it should automatically take the money from your account with it being your turn. There is a glitch in the app where if you land on the crown to upgrade a property but you don't own a property, you can't then click to save the crown for later - you have to just give it up. We do feel there should be an option to keep going once the properties are sold like in traditional monopoly where you can then make each other bankrupt. Overall though it is a fantastic game and we will play it with family and friends.

You download the app for your phone and the instructions are easy to follow with exciting new features. I’ve really enjoyed playing this game again there’s a guide on the app on how to do and it’s very easy to follow. I can’t wait to have it out with all the family over the Christmas period.

The rules are a little different from the original version, but we really enjoy the changes. The app banking feature is amazing,it’s easy to use and completely mess-free, and so satisfying to simply scan your “bank card.” Even our 5 year old son loved doing it. The metal character tokens are adorable, shiny, and feel great to play with. It's now our family’s favorite board game, and we find ourselves playing it so often now.

This game was family friendly and rollicks along much more quickly than traditional Monopoly with less need for property-buying tactics. This would make it perfect for younger players, though we played with a 14- and 12-year-old, and they were fully engaged. The playing pieces are metal, like the originals, so feel pleasantly weighty in the hand but are colourful, adding to the fun of this version of the game. The ‘phone throne’ is a fun addition - the stand works for tablets and phones - and it was great that you only need one phone to play. When a player lands on a property, that property must either be bought by that player, or opened out to the other players at auction. This means the board quickly ‘fills up’. The action cards all involve an animation or mini-game, making even going to jail quite good fun. And there’s a chance to get a free property with the high-speed rail game. Crowns upgrade your property and double the rent. There is plenty of opportunity to scan QR codes (on property cards and action cards) and to scan your bank card - whether buying property, paying rent, or trying to outbid your competitors at auction - so this game will keep any techno-fan happy. It’s super easy to scan - the camera is impressively sensitive, so even players furthest away from the enthroned phone can easily take their go. The app shows which player is in the lead at any time (a combination of properties owned and bank balance, as far as we could tell) but suspense is maintained right to the end - after the last property on the board is sold, each player gets one more turn and then the app tots up final scores, including end-game bonuses, such as for owning the most properties, passing GO the most, being in jail the longest, and so on. So it’s like the most egalitarian kids party game, where, in some way, everyone’s a winner. We’re looking forward to playing again, as we didn’t even explore the option to do deals and trade properties with other plays, and no-one went broke during the two games we’ve played so far, so there are still new things to discover. Final words from my 12-year-old: “I found this game very fun and easy to play. The online way is a lot easier to play with and a lot harder to cheat with. The whole thing seemed to be great quality and I love the metal characters (I was expecting plastic). I am definitely going to play it again and have already introduced it to a couple of people.”

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I remember the fights we used to have when I was a kid playing monopoly at home. This version with the app and all online banking, paying and scanning anything with cards is just brilliant. There is no way of cheating, you cant accuse of cheating and the winner is the winner..this game does not drag on for many hours. Once all properties are sold the game finished with a last turn for each player. Then the winner will be crowned based on the money and properties they own. Its absolutely fun and the kids have played every day of the week so far. Rules are simple. No cash to mess about with and easy to use via the app. All instructions are on the app you play as you go and youre always told what to do next etc. Fabulous family game with guaranteed no arguments. Me (36 year old mum of 3 kids/teens) is having the best time playing monopoly ever!!! 100% recommend for kids from 8 on maybe to all ages above

However was a good twist, teenagers loved using the app with game which was super easy to download and was quite intuitive to use. Had a great time playing. Would recommend if fancy a twist to the original game!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We played as a family of 4 ages 5-33. Setting up the game was pretty simple after reading the instructions. The app was easy to download. Everything scanned very well and the app had no lagging or glitches. This was a fun way to play monopoly. However, I would have preferred the old property names as we as an older generation already know them. This was a fun twist having an app. There is absolutely no cheating that can go on as the banker is the app. (Yes, my husband did try to cheat a couple of times) it doesn't let you scan other bank cards when its not your turn. My only criticism is that if you do make a mistake, you can't press back on the app. As we got confused with the crown at some point and a mistake was made. The game lasted around 35 minutes and there was fun mini games. We will definitely be playing again for family games night.

I get that there’d be some minor dents when it comes to shipping but come on! It’s completely damaged! And no proper packaging for protection! This just looks like someone used it, sold it too me all messed up, and shipped it! The gameplay is fun, especially for kids, i would just recommend buying it in person or from somewhere else, NOT Target!

I found it very educational for him teaching him to not spend all his money right away and to make smart decisions.

The properties are cute and more geared towards kids, the metallic characters, crowns, dice and cards are such high quality. The character pieces are also very cute. Being on an app means no more counting cash, the app does all the calculations for you and you don't even need to work out who and what to pay. It's easy to set up and pack away since there minimal pieces and no money to clean up. You also need less space on the table and floor too! The app is easy to use with instructions first as mud- on both the app, the game board and two reference game cards to refer back to. The phone holder is a nice touch too. Makes scanning the cards easy! It's overall, a really fun game, very easy to play and hours of fun for the whole family. And it is possible to finish this version of Monopoly!

You'll need to download the app on a device to play - an iPad is recommended for best interactive experience. No banker required and say goodbye to paper money getting lost, crumpled or torn - the game tracks every activity with card scans. Landing on 'Free Parking' or any of the railroads leads you to a fun mini-game on your device while houses and hotels are replaced by Upgrade Crowns, which doubles your property's rent. The game flows relatively quickly, clocking around an hour which is a plus over the traditional version which could drag on for hours. Overall, a MUST-TRY for game night. Perfect for gifting too!
