So far so good, high-quality boots
I bought these because I could not find women’s boots with all the features I need in my size. That is: protective toes, insulated, waterproof, made of leather, comfortable when walking on concrete and pavement all day. So far I think I made the right choice. They look huge, but when I put them on over wool socks, they fit nice and snug, not enough to pinch my toes, just enough that my feet don’t slop around in them. That’s important to me because wool is my go-to sock for winter. I was also happy to note that even though they seem large, I don’t stub my toe or stumble because of the size, unlike some men’s boots I’ve had in the past. I was concerned about the “waterproof“ feature, was afraid this would mean fake leather but as it turns out, they are in fact real leather all over so mink oil soaks in quite nicely. This is important because I’ve learned that boots you can grease will last better than the manmade materials. I’ve yet to go wading in puddles with them, but when I have to, there shouldn’t be much water coming in. I like the way the eyelets are designed. The top four can be used either to run the lace through or as a hook to save time. The laces stay tied, too, unlike some! Also, there’s a reflective welting around the back of the heel, a nice touch. I work in dim lighting, so who knows, it may prove to be a lifesaver sometime. It’s too warm to wear these every day so far but after just a couple of trial runs, I think I made the right choice. If you’re on the fence, I would say go ahead and buy!
