Maxi-Cosi Rodisport Booster Car Seat

I like that it connects with the LATCH system, so I know it will stay in place, but lining up the hooks was not easy. The arms that hold the hooks extend out, which helped, but lining them up to connect them took multiple attempts and climbing across the seat from the other side. Once in, it seems solid and my six year old said it's comfortable. Attaching and detaching the back to change between high-back booster and backless booster was simple and easy, though needs to be done when it is not in the car. Comes with one cup holder that you can attach to either side, comes off easily, and is dishwasher safe. The booster I received is a light tan, which I just know is going to get grubby looking pretty quickly. I recommend going for a darker color. My daughter couldn’t stop talking about how comfortable it was compared to her other car seat. We just got a second car and the timing of this new booster could not have been more serendipitous! I wish I knew about this booster seat sooner!! Truly!! In our other car, we have the UppaBaby booster, and while I received this Maxi Cosi Rodi Sport for testing as part of the stellar product testing panel, I will be buying a second to replace our Nuna. I kid you not— this thing is plush, comfy, has arm rests and a sturdy cup holder (our other one broke off in a week). To have a 6 year old say anything (let alone anything positive!) about a booster is wild to me. Don’t sleep on this and don’t waste your money on any other product. 10/10 would recommend for any of my friends and their kids.

Overall, this car seat is well made with nice comfortable and breathable fabric as well as a sturdy build that stayed well in place after installation. I like the neutral color of the off-white and the grey. The fabric felt nice and smooth and soft and can tell it was very breathable. The fabric was well made, and stitched well around the booster, overall great quality. For installation, overall it was easy to install. This particular booster had the solid “hooks” versus straps to hook into the seat. It did take a little just to attach it since they are solid, but once it is clicked into place, it is very sturdy and the bottom of the booster does not move which I feel like can happen, but with this booster, you know it is sturdy and stays in place once it’s installed. So you know it is safe and sound providing peace of mind. I like that this booster can be set up with the back and headrest or as my child grows that portion can be removed, and only the bottom base of the booster can be used. It allows great flexibility as my child grows, which I like and it allows for easier transportation when we travel so it’s not a bulky booster. It did feel lighter in general too. One thing I do wish the booster had was a second cupholder. This one only came with one. I also did feel like this booster isn’t as wide as others, but it didn’t seem to affect the comfortability in space for my child. However, it is something to note depending on the child sitting in it and how they grow. If space is a concern in the car this one I think is an average size but not so large. I would recommend this car seat if you’re looking for one that will grow with your child and affordable price tag.

Upon first receipt of the booster seat, I was very much impressed with the construction, feel and look of the seat. The color was neutral and could be used for any gender child, which is a plus, as well. When I installed the booster seat into the car, it was super easy and did not require a lot of thought or work to get it placed into the car. The booster was also very lightweight and easy to switch between vehicles. I used the booster with both the back and backless with my child. She was very comfortable with both. Since she is getting older, we will likely opt to use the backless booster more often, but both styles are perfectly fine. Lastly, our favorite feature was the cup holder. My child really enjoyed having her "own" cup holder attached to the seat. Both my child and I really like the booster seat and would highly recommend to others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I initially received the Maxi Cosi RodiSport booster seat from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, the first thing I noticed was the light, breathable, and soft, cushiony fabric that covers the seat. Taking it out of the box, however, was a little difficult due to how heavy it was. I love the easy click-in and click-out attachment system for cars that have the LATCH system. The click-in and -out system makes is super easy to move the seat from one car to another, but you do have to squeeze VERY firmly to detach the seat from the latch connectors. I love that the covers of the entire seat are removable for easy washability. It's super easy to connect the high back to the bottom booster for younger kids and to remove it for your older kids when they no longer need the high back. It's a little tight in the upper seat belt area which made it a little difficult to navigate the crossbody seatbelt into its spot, but once it's in, it feels snug and easily placed in the correct spot. The seat has an easy system to raise and lower the head rest portion of the high back to adjust for your child's height and it clicks into place easily and solidly. I LOVE that it came with a cupholder that's actually solid plastic! And I absolutely love that you can attach the cupholder to either side of the base which allows you to move the seat from one side of the car to the other! Overall this is a fantastic high and low back booster! Just know that it's a little heavier which might make it a little difficult for air travel, etc.! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love the Maxi Cosi Rodi Sport. It is the easiest seat to install I have ever had! It literally clicks into the car, and you're good to go. The headrest also moves up or down with an easy click. We ended up using it without the back, and my son felt so grown up. He actually asked 'Why is this so comfy?' Because it's easy to install, it's going to make moving the booster to grandma's car when she visits an absolute breeze. Our only issue is that he has two younger siblings who are also in car seats, and it was a bit tight in the back of my Toyota Yaris despite the other two having narrow seats already. This seat fits fine, but it's a little tricky even for little hands to reach the buckle between his seat and another. I almost wish the arm rest on that side could raise and lower to make buckling in a bit easier. However, overall, this booster is a dream. The convenience and ease of use is fantastic, especially if you want something you can easily move between cars and be confident it's installed correctly and securely every time. I really appreciate the Stellar Product Testing Panel sending this seat for us to try. It was perfect timing, because my son just became ready for a booster. I absolutely recommend it. In fact, we're going to be buying another for dad's car!

We really liked the neutral color which eradicated any issue arising from our littles bickering over which gender it was made for and who got to sit in it. Maxi-Cosi's solid reputation for high safety standards and comfortability rang true with the cushioned foam and adequate seat spacing. The best benefit with this booster seat was that it was baffling how E-A-S-Y it was to install. The LATCH connectors helped us secure the booster seat in just one minute with bilateral smooth rails that slide out!!! The head rest quickly adjusted with a single pull as well. The belt guides allowed our kiddos to safely buckle themselves in, everyone got it on the first try. All parents and guardians will appreciate the removable covers which are machine washable and dryer-friendly. This booster seat can be converted to backless as well, so it will grow with our family making it a smart purchase for your budget! The cup holders are also removable. For those wanting a 5 point harness, this booster car seat does not come with that kind of strap nor a tether to adhere the back of the booster to the back of our bench seat. Unfortunately, families that need to fit THREE car seats across a middle bench seat or rear seat will have to pass on this product as it is too wide to safely allow three highback boosters across, even when combined with different brand's slimfit styles... We moved our other two boosters to the third row to continue using the Rodi Sport for our youngest, but when we need to lower the third row seats for rear storage space when traveling, we won't be able to use this booster. The last con I noticed was how loudly it squeaked when unoccupied against the leather bench seat of our Yukon. Luckily, we use a carseat safe seat cover which, once reinstalled, helped minimize the noise it made sans occupant. Overall, the Maxi Cosi Rodi Sport is a great booster seat that's easy to install with basic safety features and a backless option for growing kids 40 to 100lbs. Larger families with 3 or more kids might have to pass on this one due to limited spacing and it squeaks loudly against leather when unoccupied.

I have four kids and have had several car seats over the years (4 infant, 2 convertible, 3 boosters with 5 point harnesses, 3 backed boosters, and 3 backless boosters). I was excited to try out this new car seat that I received from the Stellar testing panel. Out of all of the car seats I’ve ever used, this was the easiest to install and felt the most secure once installed. The car seat is lightweight but far from flimsy. My 9, 7, and 5 year olds all found it comfortable, but my favorite part by far is the long arms that come out to attach to the car’s anchors.

Lol. I always thought high-back boosters started at 4 years/40 lbs., so imagine my delight when I found this one starting at 3 years/30 lbs. Cue angelic choir. Imagine my happiness to receive this as part of Stellar Testing Panel. Huge huge win for us!!! Like any responsible parent, I did my research (translation: read enough reviews to qualify for an honorary PhD in Car Seatology). The seat arrived quickly. Setup was surprisingly easy too.. sooooo easy, I didn’t even have to channel my inner IKEA warrior. It fit perfectly in my mid-size sedan, the fabric was soft, and my son gave it the coveted kid seal of approval by declaring it comfy before I even finished installing it. Big win.This booster has become our go to. We have two currently and plans to buy a third. The ability to run the seat belt through the strap holder eliminates the issue of the seat belt moving or not being at the proper height- an issue that we were having with other backless boosters. Kiddo reports that it's also much more comfortable. He falls asleep in the car often, and the headrest allows him to sleep comfortably so he's not slumping over. We love how easy it is to remove and move it over to another car. Very portable and light weight. Overall a great quality booster and we have recommended to others too!

It was super easy to install utilizing the clips in the backseat. This is one of my favorite features. The clip in installation provides more stability and reassurance that the seat is not moving. It is very easy for my daughter to lock herself in with the seat belt where we only have to check. She enjoys the high back and the head rest. Seat padding feels super comfortable and we heard no complaints on our longer rides.

It took us around 10 minutes to set up and install, start to finish thanks to the LATCH clips that were easy to place. It has a really good look and fits well into my car’s overall upholstery and vibe. I think it would be a good fit in mostly any car since it looks so modern and has multiple color options. It is not a flimsy seat at all. I feel like my child is safe and secure in this seat. I love that it can be converted into a backless booster when we are ready for it. The headrest part secures the seatbelt and has good support for my child who likes to be comfortable in the car. I was able to use one hand to adjust the headrest to his size which was my favorite feature. It can be easily changed to swap for multiple kids heights. The padding is nice and soft and washable! He likes the cupholder and it can be put on either side. I would have preferred two cup holders or a small storage for snacks. This is my third child to use a high back booster and most of the ones I've had are clunky and the material is not great. The Maxi Cosi Rodi Sport is appealing to the eye, the fabric is premium in comparison to most brands, and the latch system is great. It's easy to adjust and my child can tighten the seat belt in the right position all by herself. I anticipate this being the last seat we'll need for her and if we had to replace it for some reason, I would purchase this one again.

I love how easy it was to use the LATCH to install the seat. It is very simple to convert the seat from a low back to high back, and to adjust the height setting for a proper fit. What really impressed me was how lightweight the seat felt and how it was not cumbersome to move. I was able to easily install it in the middle of a bench seat with other car seats on the end. We have been looking for a high back booster to replace another brand, and the Maxi Cosi Rodi Sport absolutely fits the bill. I have an 8yo who currently uses a backless booster, and a 5yo who is using a high back booster and tested this seat. From the moment I pulled it out of the box, the overall quality of the seat and fabrics was impressive. I received a light grey version, which is super cute and sure to stay cool in the Texas summer heat. While lighter fabrics might be more prone to stains, it is also machine washable (and DRY-able!) which will be very helpful. This model has the rigid latch, which is a recent discovery of mine, and I don’t think I will ever go back! This is my favorite feature, as install is a breeze. Simply extend the rigid latch bars on either side, click into the latch anchors in the vehicle, and slide the whole seat back. As you push back, you hear/feel some click as it sort of ratchets back and tightens. I was easily able to get the seat secured with zero side to side movement. While lack of movement is not required in any seat, it helps keep seat belt buckle access clear and avoids unnecessary rattles. Fit to child was also a great feature of the seat. Simply grip the top of the headrest with one hand, squeeze the handle, and move up or down. The seat belt guide at the shoulder is OPTIONAL and only required to achieve correct seat belt placement as described in the manual. Use of the guide restricted seatbelt retraction in my vehicle, and placement was fine without, so we will not be using it. Conversion to a backless booster is very easy. With the seat removed from the vehicle, simply hold the bottom and push back on the top and they will click apart. I do appreciate that it easily stays clicked together in high back mode, so it will stand on its own without the back detaching, which is great when removing seats to clean out the car! The seat is low profile and much easier for my 5 year old to buckle himself in correctly. It is comfortable and appropriately padded, we used on a 3-hour road trip with no complaints. It is also a pretty booster, and I love the look in my vehicle. I would highly recommend this booster to growing families, and will likely be buying another for our second vehicle!

The material is nice and just looks and feels like it's well made. It's comfortable and plush and my boy is loving to ride in it. It will be nice to have because he just transitioned to a booster, so it will last him a long time because once he gets bigger we can take the back part off. Installing the booster was simple and did not take long at all! Overall, I'm very impressed with this booster!

Assembly was easier than our previous booster and very self explanatory! I also really appreciate that the latch system has many different lengths it can extend to which will help work in any vehicle. We received this as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and we will continue to use this booster instead of our previous one! It does seem a bit wider than our previous booster but definitely not a deal breaker! I also had trouble disengaging the latch at first but after reading the manual again it was not a problem. Overall this is a great option for kids in the high back booster stage that can easily transition to a no back booster as well. That versatility paired with the differing latch lengths and many height adjustment settings has me thinking this seat will last a long time!

The Maxi-Cosi RodiSport booster seat has been a great everyday option for our family. It is extremely sturdy, well-padded, and thoughtfully designed without being bulky. My 3 year old is comfortable on both short trips and longer drives, which makes it easy to rely on for daily use. The standout feature is the attachment system. The seat uses rigid metal rods that extend and lock into the tether anchors. This makes the seat feel securely integrated with the car rather than something that shifts around and is supported by straps. Installation was super simple! Just click it into place and you’re secure. In addition to the seats locks, the booster does include a strap to secure the upper portion of the seatback to the headrest anchor. Another one of my favorite features is that it converts from a high-back booster to a backless booster as your child grows. the back is very easy to remove as it simply pops out and disconnects from the base. The booster also contains a hook to run your car’s seatbelt through, keeping it out of the face of your child. It feels like every aspect and detail have been considering when this booster seat was designed. The materials feel high quality and breathable, and cleaning has been simple. Crumbs shake out easily, and small spills wipe right off without leaving stains. Overall, the RodiSport is a reliable, comfortable booster seat that’s easy to install, easy to clean, and built to grow with your child!

For starters, it is very lightweight which made it really easy for me to move around. I installed this seat twice because I realized that my child was tall enough to use it in the backless mode. Taking the back off was super easy. I think this booster would be great for someone that needed to switch cars often. It only takes a couple of seconds to install it. I loved how the LATCH system worked for this seat. I didn't have to adjust and pull any straps. Essentially, just plug in and go. I'm definitely a fan and my child said it was a very comfortable upgrade from what they were using before.

Even though it was easy to put in, I didn't hear the clicks mentioned in the manual, but it still feels very solid. My kid likes sitting in it and stays comfortable. The soft material is nice and made it an easy transition from harnessed car seats. I also really like the button and latch mechanism because it makes the seat feel very secure. I love that it is easy to install and remove, that it sits securely in my car, and it seems comfortable and high quality. My daughter has been in a booster seat for a couple years now, and my son has just gotten to the point where he is ready to transition into the booster seat as well, so I really appreciate that this booster is flexible in adjusting and transforming to a backless booster, which will also be convenient for travel. We drive a 2015 Toyota Prius, and the booster seat installs so easily! I love the latch system for a simple and secure install. However, it was very difficult for my son to buckle up when this seat was installed on the driver’s side, as there wasn’t much space between the buckle and the seat. Even I struggled to get the seatbelt buckled. So I switched the seat to the passenger side, and now there is plenty of room for the buckle to be used. As a bonus, since the latch bars hold the seat securely in place, now my daughter won’t have to worry about her seat moving over the top of the buckle and making it more difficult for her to buckle up, which has happened with our other booster. The headrest adjusts very easily to ensure the proper belt placement, so if my kids ever want to switch sides, or if I need to put another child in the seat, we can readjust easily. One concern I had was that the shoulder belt positioning guide tends to make the seatbelt pucker, which doesn’t seem safe. I thought it was odd that it’s backwards from my other seat’s shoulder belt positioning guide, and the instructions even seemed to discourage using it, so I’m a little confused as to why it is the way it is. In any case, I just put the belt through beneath the guide like it recommended in the instructions, and it seems to work well that way. The only other minor drawback is that this seat only came with one cupholder. I would have preferred a second, but it’s ok. I do like how easy it is to install the cupholder and change which side it’s on. It remains pretty secure while installed, and is easily removed to wash. Overall, I think it is a quality booster seat and very convenient to use. It feels nice and secure, and it’s simple to install, uninstall, and adjust. I look forward to using this seat for several years to come, and the convenience it will provide while traveling.
