Maxi Cosi Pria All in One Convertible Car Seat
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As the mom of 4 boys who range in age from 9 years to 8 months, I’ve used and installed quite a few car seats. I was given this car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My 8-month-old is 21 lbs., so I was ready to transition him from a carrier model to this Maxi Cosi Pria All-in-One Convertible car seat. This is my first Maxi Cosi car seat that I’ve used, and I was very impressed with the quality. The fabrics feel soft and cozy. Although I love the way the fabric looks, if I were to purchase again, I would choose a darker color since my kiddos are prone to spilling. The padding around the buckle and shoulder straps seem comfortable, and the head support feels sturdy and substantial. I really appreciate that it can be used for the rest of the time my kiddo will need a car seat and booster seat. A downside for me is that it is a fairly wide seat. I have a divided bench in the second row of my SUV and I was previously able to have my infant carrier car seat/base and a slender forward facing seat in my second row, and the third bench seat was still able to easily fold or move forward for school pickup/drop off of my older boys who sit in the third row. With the Pria rear facing, the third second row seat doesn’t have that same mobility. Luckily my boys are agile climbers, so that’s not a deal breaker. That being said, I can still fit three across in my second row, which is a plus. The Pria was easy to install using the latch system; however, it did take me a longer than I expected to get it leveled to the correct line for my infant’s size. Overall, I’ll keep using this as his primary seat. I think it’s a high-quality seat that can safely be used for the rest of our car seat/booster seat years, and it is comfortable for my little one. Pros: comfortable, sturdy, quality fabrics that stayed much cleaner than I expected, can be used from infancy through booster stage, dual cup holders, easy to adjust the head supports and straps for buckling Cons: wider than other seats I was used to, lighter fabric color (although it does come in other colors), need to use a rolled towel to level the seat, which I had not done in the past
