Cute but a little defective

I got these for my son’s first birthday. They’re very cute puzzles with chunky wood pieces that are easy for little ones to grasp, but large enough that they won’t be able to swallow. However, the puzzle boards themselves have a veneer and one was peeling upon arrival. I can trim the damaged bits so it’s not worth the effort of the return, but if you were planning to gift something from this brand, I’d buy with enough time to accommodate getting a replacement.
