Q: After each page is read there is a loud, grinding-like noise when it is obviously uploading the next slide. I’m wondering if others experience this, if it’s normal or if I have a defective one?

Sun for kids. Concept is a good one. I could do without the loud music that plays when the cartridge/story isn’t on and the bright lights in the “nightlight” or at least an off switch for those features. Too loud, bright and too stimulating. The cartridges are a bit difficult for littles ones to get all the way in and then out. I mostly need to help my 3 year old. My 5 year old can do it by himself but he isn’t as interested in the unit itself as the younger ones. Hoping for the release of more stories.

There are so many story options! My 2 year old loves listening to these stories at nap time, and before bed. It has made the transition so much smoother for us! ** Note: 1. There is a noise between projections that some people may be bothered by, for us it is not an issue. 2. I would suggest buying a case as well if you plan on getting multiple stories so that you can keep all of the pieces and books together.

Barely used before it stopped showing anything and stopped working. We tried fresh batteries and different tapes. We used it a little the first day (10-15 min), second day for a few minutes, then it no longer worked. When it did work, it would struggle to play the tape and also project images sideways.

Faulty toy
The projector did not work. We tried using new batteries and then another set of batteries just in case. Could not get it to work. Called the little tikes and it’s been a huge process to get a replacement because it’s on back order. No store in the area has it so can’t return it right away. Really sad Christmas, my daughter’s main gift and didn’t work. We even bought a bunch of the cartridges to Go along with it. Definitely wouldn’t recommend, online a lot of people have the same issue..

This item is complete garbage! Gifted it to our toddler for Christmas and the words dont match the screen. Evidently this is a common defect from this toy for 2 years now but they haven’t fixed it. Try explaining to a toddler their new toy has to go back into the box to be returned—- very unhappy with this product

Give it some time to load visuals then press play
At first it did not show a visual only the “reel” light turned on and made whitenoise. Once you put it in the I position and give it a few minutes then press the play button again once it stops sounding like it’s loading it will show a picture and she will start reading the slides. Some slides will be out of place depending on how fast it goes but it works ! Not bad for the sale price
