About the Author

Professor James T. O'Reilly taught in the College of Law and the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. With this publication, he has published 57 texts and about 200 articles and previously served as Section Chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Administrative Law & Regulatory Practice. His books on elder care issues have been widely used and he has been active in legal aid programs for elders in the Cincinnati area. He is a graduate of Boston College and the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Mark Tassone is a litigator in private practice who has focused his legal career on litigating nursing home cases on behalf of plaintiffs and their families before trial courts, appellate courts, and other tribunals. His practice spans both state and federal courts. Mark's background in litigating nursing home cases adds the insights of practical, hands-on experience interviewing families, gathering evidence, reviewing medical records, deposing nursing home staff, and resolving cases on behalf of his clients. More than anything, Mark is guided by a passion for advocating for the elderly and others who cannot speak for themselves.

Prior to entering law, Mark graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a double major in Latin and Greek as well as classical studies. Mark obtained a master's degree in Latin from Florida State University. He then taught Latin in public schools before attending the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
