Lifetime 48 Quart High Performance Cooler, Pumice Stone and Orange (91209)

Took it on a week long camping trip with a couple of buddies. I was the only one that still had an ice cold cooler after the trip. Highly recommended reading the manual to find the best way to store your food/drinks and ice for maximum ice retention.

Exceptional cooler on par, if not better, than Yeti. Perfect for boating. During the last hurricane, I filled with ice as backup, left it in the garage, and did not open the cooler once until the 4th day and it was completely full. Of course, when it gets opened it melts faster, but when my husband and I went to the Everglades over Christmas, we has a third cooler for back up ice to help the main coolers and it got us through. An absolutely superior product. Cannot recommend it enough.

This cooler is overpriced as compared to other Lifetime coolers. Lacks drain plugs on both sides. Performed well as expected.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this cooler about a month ago. Immediately after taking it out of the box, my husband and I were impressed with the handles. We love how long they are and that the rope moves around a little bit making it easier to maneuver the cooler for one person holding it. I took it to an all day soccer event filled with our favorite beverages and some ice right before I left. I was amazed how good the seal is on this cooler. It didn't take long for the kids to want to grab a drink once we got to the fields and I was amazed at how cold they were already. We were in and out of the cooler all day. When we got home we were too tired to unload everything so the cooler got left out. A week later I decided it was time to put everything away and was amazed that their was still ice in it. What was even more shocking was realizing my kids must have been in it through out the week getting drinks because my drinks were almost all gone out of it, yet it still had ice in it and was so cold my baby couldn't hold the drink in his hands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this cooler a couple weeks ago and couldn't wait to try it out. We love to camp, fish, ride atv's, and take spontaneous road trips. We already owned the 55 qt. cooler and it is great for long trips but is a little large for quick trips. The 48 qt. cooler is the perfect size to fill with food/drinks and throw in the boat for a day on the lake, or in the car for a road trip without taking up to much space. The first thing I noticed on the cooler is the tight seal in the lid. It is a little hard to open but only because it is sealed to tightly which would definitely help with ice retention. Another great feature of the cooler is the rope handles which make it easy for one person to carry. The plastic handle grips on the rope makes it comfortable to hold. We filled our cooler and took it out for an over night trip. When we got home the ice we had in the cooler had hardly melted. To test the ice retention of the cooler we decided to leave the ice in the cooler. After 6 days outside in the sun we still had ice left in the cooler. There is no doubt this cooler will keep food cold. We look forward using this cooler for all of our trips.

We haven't always had great luck with coolers... we end up with a swamp of water and room temp drinks at the end of a long summer day or between our dogs, kids, and guests the construction didn't hold up. It was always hard finding a decently priced cooler within our price point that was also well constructed. We can confidently say we finally found just that! My husband is in engineering and when our cooler arrived he was surprised how well thought out all the features were and the quality of the material. I personally love the handles - it felt like they helped make it easier to carry. I haven't had the cooler long so I'm not sure how they hold up and I've never had a cooler with handles like that before but I personally really like them. I also appreciate that the cooler itself isn't very heavy so that it's more manageable when carrying. My husband loves the hidden can openers that are accessible when you open the cooler. We like that they're hidden from our toddler so she doesn't want to play with them. I think the cooler is a great size for our family camping trips or when we have family over for parties. It isn't oversized so it fits in our travel trailer's outdoor storage bay. You can fit a good amount of drinks in there and don't need a lot of ice because the ice STAYS COOL! We left the cooler outside for a few days after an event and most of the ice was still intact. We would recommend this cooler to any active outdoor families!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooler is so amazing I don't even know where to start! The cooler had very thick, insulated walls that keep everything cold for days. My husband took it on a hunting trip and even though the temperature outside was hot everything stayed cold for at least 3 days. He made the comment that when he closes the lid it makes a vacuum seal sound which I'm sure makes it very air tight and help keep it cold. The handles are very easy to hold and make it easy to carry. The outside is built very rugged and I'm sure we will get many years of use from this great cooler. Lifetime products always builds great products and this cooler is no exception!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooler is exactly what we were looking for. It is light weight yet durable and able to hold a lot of food and beverages. We had a great time using it for a family picnic at the local zoo. As advertised it did not have to withstand a grizzly bear, but it did have to hold up to our kids using it as an extra seat and dragging it around. I left the remaining ice to see how long it would last. Ice remained for at least 5 days before I had to drain it for our next trip.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use coolers all the time while camping, however, it's annoying how often we have to refill the ice and often ends up with warm food. However, this Lifetime cooler is truly amazing, it has a rubber seal on the lid as well as latches that close it tight. I really like the handles, they make it easy to carry and my boy can help without being hit in the legs with the cooler as he walks. My kids (and us adults) found ourselves sitting on the cooler and using it as a step stool during camping several times as it's very sturdy and strong. With just a thing layer of Ice (2 inches deep) I found that the cooler was able to maintain a refrigerator temperature for several days. We love this cooler so far and have been very impressed with the quality and great design.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooler is amazing! It’s thick insulated walls make keeping all your picnic and camping food at the perfect temperature. The rope handles are longer than the plastic handles normally on coolers making it much more comfortable to carry. The bottle opener feature that allows you to also use a padlock if needed is great too. All around a great cooler!

I haven't had a chance to use this any other place than my backyard and the park once. The things I like the most is the ice retention!!! I notice a lot of people saying it doesn't really last, but mine lasted almost 4 days, the first time and 2 and a half the second time. I believe it had everything to do with adding hot drinks, rather than cold ones like I did the first time. It was sturdy...but HEAVY filled with ice and drinks, and the reason I gave it 4 stars, is because for someone who is only 5'5" it was a beast to move around by one person when filled with ice only, nevermind drinks. I had to put it on a cart to get it to the park as it was simply to heavy. I think if it had at least two small wheels it would have been much easier to handle for a single person. Pros- The handles were easy to grip and didn't hurt my hands which was wonderful when lifting. The spout to empty was fantastic!! No plastic flip spout that gets broken and mangled, but a screw on one made draining super simple. The latches worked and were easily closed and opened with minimal effort. My friends LOVED the bottle opener on it as not one person remembered to bring one.

Lifetime 48 Quart High Performance Cooler! Love the rope handles that make this much easier to carry and move. We were so excited to try this out! First thing we had to try out the new cooler, put ice and drinks in it, leaving it on the patio. While it was 75 degrees outside the ice was melted the second day but drinks were kept cool for 3 days. Second we took this outdoors with us in a much cooler environment, 45 - 60 degrees. Ice remained 4 days and things remained cool for another 2 days. We would highly recommend this for outdoor adventures!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooler has been a great addition to us. It has some great features. I love the easy to use latch and this helped create a better seal. It is a good size for our family of 4. We recently took it on a 3 day weekend camping trip. The bottle opener came in handy. We liked that we could lock it if needed since we were outdoors. It is very durable and well constructed. Our experience with the ice retention time was about 3 days. We filled it up Friday morning and I didn’t clear it out till Monday afternoon. While all the ice melted by then, all the leftover drinks were still very cold. I guess the amount of time we open and closed it play a part in that. The spout made it so easy to drain! My only con is that it got really heavy for me to carry after filling it up but I’m also very petite. The extended rope handles did help make it more comfortable to carry with another person.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got my new cooler and wanted to try it out right away, filled up about 1/4 of cooler w ice and placed a frozen water bottle in it, By day three, bottle still frozen w half of the ice in cooler still intact….this cooler does the trick keeping items frozen . Also like how the orange accents match my patio- which is where we will be using it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the 48 qt cooler to take out to picnics and camping as we have a 65 qt and wanted something just a little smaller to take out. Our family went camping with the grandchildren and put our drinks and some food in. We put two bags of ice in on Sunday and it was melted by Weds but the food and drinks stayed cold until Fri. We liked the ease of the latches and the grips on the handle ropes but it was still hard for one person to carry. One thing that would make it easier to transport would be to have a pull handle and wheels making it easier to move around without lifting it. I look forward to using it on our adventures next summer.

The straps to keep the cooler sealer are also really nice and a lot easier to use. Highly recommend for an affordable cooler that is the same quality as a yeti for a quarter of the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a chance to put this cooler to the test over the past several weeks, and have been nothing but pleased with my personal experience while using it. I have taken it on several hunting trips, as well as used it on several long days of farming. My favorite feature of this model has to be the latches. The two piece latch system for me is much preferred to ensure the gasket has sealed, keeping the contents cooled for days. Ice retention in my experience was roughly 4-5 days. Obviously, that will depend on how much you are opening the unit, but I was very satisfied with the ice retention. This 48 quart model is also the perfect size for what I have used it for. Overall, this thing is built like a tank and does the job you need it to do. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the market for one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For its size it has plenty of storage space inside. The rope handles are sturdy and make moving the cooler loaded easy. Just for fun to test I put 2 bags of ice in and left it in my house, there was ice in it 6 days later. I put 2 bags of ice in on Thursday before going camping to prep it, then drained the bit of water and put another bag in Friday and the cooler still had a good amount of ice through the next Tuesday in 70-80 degree highs in the desert with lots of sun exposure.
