LifeStraw 18 Cup Home Water Filter Dispenser

I bought it as a gift for my daughter and her boyfriend. He first introduced me to lifestraw and I have both the smaller 7 cup and the dispenser. I personally prefer water filtered thru these than any other purifier I've tried. Since they didn't have the dispenser I thought it would make a great gift. They were excited about getting it. Right now based on my previous experience, I give it 5 stars.

We love our pitcher! It has saved us so many trips to the store to buy gallons as we live on a well. Also, we all agree this water tastes amazing! The only downside is how often we have to fill it up and how long it takes to filter. Worth the wait though.

It is a good product. Water tastes great. Easier to do this with a separate pitcher as it may not easily fit in a sink to fill that way. Saves space on the countertop. This product is nice to have near cooking spaces. Slow to dispense large amounts of water but overall I like it. Would recommend unless you need to rapidly dispense large amounts of water.

It really works. It really remove the bad taste (chemicals) in water. Fits perfectly in my fridge. Looks pretty and is practical. Very happy with this product

I live in a pre-war building with very old pipes, so cleansing my water is a tough task. I'm not sure how effective this pitcher is. I sense it's somewhat, not fully effective, I originally bought the large 35-cup capacity dispenser, and replaced it with the 18-cup. The dispensing spout on the 35-cup pitcher worked better, requiring less thumb pressure, than on the 18-cup. Also, when the water level drops below the halfway mark, the water flows out much more slowly. I need to press the dispensing button very hard, my thumb can barely fit and hold it down, and tilt the entire unit to try to extract water.

Great water filter works well on our counter. One possible improvement would be a rubberized base to keep it from slipping while dispensing water.

I use LifeStraw filters for several years now and it’s the only one on the market, in its category, that gives me this neutral taste. I inherited very high capacity of taste bugs and LifeStraw is totally satisfying. Real quality of the filtration for harmful products as I never conducted any control of their quality as filter I can’t say? As I live on a well the water is controlled two times a year and is only a little too much loaded in iron and magnesium. With my filter on the countertop I can’t taste anymore the presence of those two chemicals. So I am very satisfied.

Love having filtered water in my fridge. I can fill up for emergencies too, unlike an in door water dispenser.

No complaints! I bought this because I love my lifestraw water bottle and needed a new water filter for my fridge. Great quality and design.

I like the bigger capacity and I found a spot on a counter so it doesn't stick out. I think I'm drinking more water so overall I'm happy with it. The biggest issue is the base has no grip. I had to brace the whole container so that when I open the spout the whole thing doesn't slide around. A simple gasket or some rubber feet would solve it. May not be an issue if you put it in your fridge because it might take up the whole length of the shelf. Second thing is that water gets stuck at the bottom of the spout when I close it and always dribbles onto the ground. Pitching the spout down a little would make that last bit of water roll down into my cup and there'd be no issues. Not a major issue but it's really annoying that I have to grab towel to dry the floor.

We loved our home dispenser until it started breaking down after ~4-5 months of use. We have 'very hard' water (average 296 PPM), and were filtering probably around 1 gallon/day, so maybe this contributed to the quick break down? First the slider on the lid fell off because one of the plastic rails broke, then a few weeks later, the piece around the dispenser cracked and broke as well (see images). It also started doing this strange thing where it essentially stopped filtering, but only when the upper reservoir was filled near the max fill line (which seemed to make the open vertical column behind the filter fill with water). When the upper reservoir was only slightly filled with water (which kept water out of that back open vertical column behind the filter), it would filter at a rate that seemed normal. I initially chose this product versus other choices because of the lower price point (even though it was all plastic, which is counterintuitive when trying to remove microplastics), but now, unfortunately, I will be switching to a competitor product that is more expensive but stainless steel, in the hopes that it will last longer.

I got this for my son and grandkids for their first home because I’m not sure the drinking water is safe. They say they love the water filter and use it every day.

Perfect size for my fridge. I drink a lot of water, so I like that it holds so much water.

The packaging for the glass pitcher is inadequate. Result: normal handling and it cracked. Very disappointing.

I bought this as a Christmas present. I cannot attest to the performance of the filtered water dispenser at this time.

Larger dispenser, more convenient! Smaller one for the fridge! No more plastic bottles! Now hoping you make filtered shower heads!
