LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex 76968

The LEGO Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex set was an outstanding and incredibly enjoyable experience from start to finish. It is easily the best LEGO set I have ever built. The build process was engaging, well-designed, and very rewarding, with a perfect balance of challenge and fun. I especially loved discovering all the hidden easter eggs and subtle references from the movies, which made the experience even more exciting and nostalgic. Once completed, the T. rex is massive and truly impressive. The level of detail in the fossil design is remarkable, and it makes for an incredible display piece that immediately grabs attention. You can really appreciate the thought and creativity that went into this set, from the structure and articulation to the overall presentation. I genuinely enjoyed every moment of building it and found myself looking forward to each step. I highly recommend this LEGO set to anyone—whether you’re a long-time LEGO builder, a dinosaur enthusiast, or a fan of the movies. It’s a fun, immersive build that delivers an amazing final result and is absolutely worth it.

The build itself was fun and it looks great when finished. The main problem is that I was missing 6 of the same pieces from one bag, and another singular piece from a different bag. I also experienced an error in the instruction book 3 where about half way through the instructions 10-20 pages were flipped upside down.

This is the largest piece now in my collection, and the final piece I've built in 2025; the Tyrannosaurus completes what I consider a curated piece of art in a [lighted] display focused on my interests in science and technology [I'm a retired dentist/pathologist, so this piece easily caught my attention and, with the other largest piece in my collection (the DUNE ornithopter, also shown in the photos) it's my favorite build. For any LEGO builders with an interest in science technology, and engineering, I would highly recommend the Tyrannosaurus as a focus piece, along with the LEGO planet earth and moon in orbit, LEGO evolution of STEM and LEGO insect collection (also shown in the photos)

Nothing wrong with the set at all. Super fun to build, great display piece, no stickers, great figs, great Easter eggs, excellent design, great set for the money. 10/10

As a big dinosaur lover, I was very excited when this fossil version was released. It is extremely detailed and has pretty much every noticeable bone on the T-Rex’s body. It is extremely massive and needs room to display. It is symmetrical so there is some repetition. The final product can be a bit delicate and would need to be moved carefully. Overall, this LEGO is definitely recommended for any dinosaur lover.

I do not usually leave reviews, I began my Lego journey last year and have a few sets, this is by far the best one I've built. After Jaws I was hesitant to buy another movie based build,but my partner purchased this set for me after I had read others reviews and it has been my favourite build so far. Using the Lego builder app the steps were really easy to follow. If you are considering buying this set I promise you will not regret it.

Even though I am an adult, I love dinosaurs. And this set was a must for my collection. I will say building certain parts of it is tedious but it’s so worth it because the detail and the final outcome are amazing! I also love the hidden Easter eggs throughout the build. Very fun and even though it’s big, the tail can move in case you need it to fit in a smaller space. Mine does perfectly on a shelf and I am so happy with it!

Superb set. I'm a long time collector and this was one of the better sets I've built in a very long time. Its huge and visually so impressive. Makes a great display piece. I highly recommend it.

One of the most remarkable display sets I’ve ever built! The sheer scale of this build is incredible, but the detail is awesome too. Actually a very engaging build, not boring and repetitive as I worried it would be. 10/10

I got myself the T. rex fossil last week and was able to finish it in 3 days. At first I was a bit nervous about how difficult the build would be but as I kept going I was extremely happy to be able to put everything together with no problems at all! The build is fairly straightforward and the fossil itself is actually very stable on the base and is pretty big! Don't worry if you need to move it just pick it up by the two columns and you'll see just how stable it is--it's an awesome display piece as well, I plan on putting it in a case and proudly displaying it. The only reason I'm giving this 4/5 stars is because there was a piece missing from one of the bags (bag #20 piece #6089119), luckily I had 3/4 of the required pieces for that particular step which involved assembling the skull and I was able to eventually attach it to the spine no problem but I do wish I would have been able to use all the required pieces.

Amazing build from start to finish took my 2 days to do which is the longest any set has ever taken me and would recommend for anyone who loves Jurassic park or just dinosaurs in general

Good value, great building experience, and an AWESOME display piece, this is the coolest set I've ever built, and I hope they release similar builds in the future.

Bought this for my husband as a gift and he loved it. Would work on a bag each night after work. Said it was a really fun and engaging build and he loved that it didn't feel repetitive. Great display piece for our dinosaur loving sons.

I bought this set because my daughter loves dinosaurs and it did not disappoint. The build took me about 12 hours over a few evenings and it was such an enjoyable experience. The detail is incredible, with fun little references to the films that made it extra rewarding. The two minifigures look great displayed alongside the finished T. rex. It’s a massive build, but very sturdy once complete. Would definitely recommend.

When I saw this set, I just had to buy it. It is so articulate and easy to build. It maybe took me a week of assembly but I do not remember having to go back and fix much durong that time. Now where to put it lol

My favorite set to build yet. Lots of details and the display is amazing

This dinosaur looks incredible once assembled. However the building of it is tedious and not much fun. Usually you see your creation take shape as you build it, for example building a vehicle you put the doors on, the windows, then the roof, then the wheels - but this just involves tons of beige blocks, you don't really have much of a clue what you're building at any given time, you get to the end and oh it's part of the leg. So it's not very exciting. Also disappointing was no Jeff Goldblum figure! I had to go and buy another set just to get him! :) It is certainly a magnificent centrepiece on the shelf of my dinosaur themed room, however. Also enjoyed the little easter egg :)

Purchased as a surprise activity to take on a UK family holiday and it was a big hit with all seven of us, grandparents, adult children and grandchild, with ages ranging from 8 years to 76 years. We all enjoyed working together on it and we were most impressed with the clear instructions, technical details and look of the finished build.

I haven't finished it yet, in fact I am only just opening bag 6, but already this has to be one of the best builds, and I have done many. The Easter eggs are a new thing and laughed when I saw the frog driving, then he was hidden away. Marvellous! Most excellent Lego.
