$2.99 and not a penny more is just right for the Doggie Dig that strongly resembles a toy that's included in a kid's meal at a fast food restaurant. The positive things are that there is no harmful dye in the sand, the whole thing fits in the palm of your hand allowing for easy portability, the sand grains are medium and so soothing flowing between your fingers and best of all, you can store everything in the doghouse when you're done playing. The kids were disappointed that the dogs looked nothing like the adorable ones shown in the advertising picture. The red bulldog in the ad was orange in our set and looked more like a pig while the blue dog in the ad was purple in our set and the kids thought it was a dragon. (I tried to attach the pictures but they wouldn't show up.) The two non-working accessories are a choking hazard and one of those is the sunglasses that don't unfold to put on the doggie and you can't put the bone in any of the dog mouths like in the ad. The dog house roof lifts off, the walls are not removable as one reviewer said but they can be folded down then snapped back up again for storage, and you can pack sand into the bottom of the space under the doghouse and in the roof but other than that, there isn't much functionality to the house. Unfortunately, it didn't hold the attention of the kids for long and they abandoned their sets, so I played with the sand myself!

It’s a small set which you can clearly tell by the size of the box. My little one loves finding the dog inside and seeing what other prize he collected. We use them for potty training rewards. Now he has a few different little Kinetic sand surprise things. This is one of the types he likes.

This is so tiny and it’s my fault for not reading about it but why is it priced so high for such a tiny thing. Ridiculous.

Thought this was a super cute idea. I have not bought kinetic sand in probably almost 10 years so I completely forgot everything about it. That being said I love the fact the house/box it comes in perfect size it fits in my hand great for traveling love that it has a lid on it and clicks so it’s not loose. I was curious on if the sand would be enough to keep my child entertained (he is almost 3) and loves it. The dog and the sunglasses are perfect for him. It keeps him entertained. He loves that the sand falls, but also sticks back together. Love it! Great, small gift, great stocking stuffer. We are becoming big fans of kinetic sand right now!

They love all things Kinetic Sand, so they were so thrilled when we received this one! It has brought them hours of fun, non-fighting, playtime together! Only thing that could have made it better is if there was some tools to help them play with it, but they do have some from other kits so just use those with this kit too.

My 4yr old and 6yr old happily played together for an hour to test this toy out! Two thumbs up from both of them! My kids really loved that you can mix colors together to make either squirly soft serve, or use the scoop to pile up a cone. They really enjoyed being able to "grate" the sprinkles on top of the icecream too. What I love is that it is easy to set up, they can play independently, and use their imagination to create whatever they desire. My kids love hiding small animals it in and have each other dig for them to find it. Theyve also used it to make cupcakes and ice cream. Super happy with this product and happy that we got to try it.

It was not overly messy and did not stick to hands. We use a large shallow box to keep the sand contained. Easy to vacuum stray bits. Weve already bought other colours!
