Hello, I am the owner of a Shark IW1120C vacuum cleaner, officially purchased in Canada. Unfortunately, I am facing a very disappointing situation: the charging plug on the power adapter broke, and I am now unable to use the vacuum cleaner. The most frustrating part is that the Canadian Shark website does not offer any replacement parts or accessories for this model at all, including the original charger. This is especially unacceptable given that this product is officially sold on the Canadian market. As a result, a relatively minor failure of a consumable accessory has rendered an otherwise expensive and functional device completely unusable. This level of post-sale support seriously undermines trust in the Shark brand and gives the impression that Canadian customers are left without any real support after purchase. I expected an international brand to provide at least basic service and spare parts support in every country where its products are sold. In reality, this is clearly not the case. I sincerely hope Shark will reconsider its support policy in Canada and ensure proper availability of replacement parts for models sold here.

We have a small area rug and wood floors and a bunch of pets. I love it for what we have. The only challenge I am having is finding replacement filters after a couple years of having it.

Poor battery life and no parts in Canada
We've had this for 6 months, and the battery lasts max 15 min. I hoped to order a replacement, but parts are not available in Canada. Would also like to purchase the pet multi-tool, but also not available. Very disappointing. Also incredibly frustrating that there's nowhere to store the crevice tool - constantly looking for it!

Disappointed and would return in a heartbeat
Just purchased this vacuum yesterday from The good guys. The suction isn’t strong and takes multiple passes for dust on hard floors and not strong enough for sliding door groves. It’s nice that it empties itself but metal particles build up on the magnet causing it to not close properly then the dust and dirt the next use falls out the bottom. The magnet is a pain to clean and requires cleaning after each big use. The battery run time is about 10-15 minutes.

Not worth money
I purchased this 8 weeks ago and the only handy thing about it is that it empties itself. It’s not worth the amount of money this thing cost!!? It doesn’t suck as hard as it’s made out to. The hoses are tiny so when it does vacuum anything up it’s blocked in seconds… I go over my floors with my cheap vacuum and it picks up a lot more even after using the shark first.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Shark Detect Pro for 17 months, and it totally changed how I feel about cordless vacuums. The suction power is amazing, especially when it comes to pet hair and messes from my kids. The Detect technology automatically adjusts the suction depending on the floor, which is super convenient. It’s lightweight, easy to maneuver, and comes with a bunch of attachments, including a mini motorized one for pet hair. Cleaning, storing, and charging it is a breeze, and the battery lasts a long time. The only small downside is that it’s a bit loud on full power, but the performance definitely makes up for it. I highly recommend it, especially for pet owners and families with kids!

Not Recommended
Brought this just after Christmas to replace our 5 year old Dyson. Was impressed initially but with 3 months use I would trade it for the old Dyson in a heartbeat. The suction is hopeless without the power head, and using the detail attachments even on full power struggles to pick anything up. The power head refuses to pick up anything larger than microscopic and the 'edge cleaner' is in effective. Another gripe is the vacuum tube gets blocked very easily, even with soft fluff - requiring removal of the tube and either blowing the blockage out, or using something to push it through. If you don't have kids at home and require something to pick up barely noticeable dust then this is for you. If you frequently need to clean up messes or small scaps I would look elsewhere - especially for the price tag. I wanted to like my shark but it just has too many limitations for general use Unfortunately I purchased this from a third party store, otherwise I would be pursuing a refund to buy something that is fit for purpose.

Do not buy
This vacuum would be okay if you are looking for something for very basic hard wood floor cleaning. The suction power is very minimal and it struggles to clean rugs and carpet. Dust gets trapped in an inaccessible area of the vacuum handle regardless of frequent and proper maintenance. We do not have a dog but we had one come over for 1 hour and this vacuum could not suck up the dog hair.

Worst vaccuum
I bought this vaccuum less than 6 months ago and there is no suction. It just spreads the dirt around the carpet. Worst vaccuum I ever owned.

Not great for pet hair or carpets
This vacuum doesn’t work well on carpet. It just leaves lines of pet hair on the carpet. It gets clogged frequently . I have to fix a clog at least once every time I use it now. And I’m not trying to vacuum up anything it shouldn’t be able to handle. It takes multiple passes to pick up pet hair and crumbs. I do like the auto empty feature, however, this has only worked some of the time even with regular emptying.

Could of been better
For The most part I do love it except the fact it’s not good when picking up on the edges close to the wall like it claims. But in regular floors and carpet it does pick up good. I also hate the fact you can’t buy other attachments for it like the other products
