A ready-to-feed wild-bird seed block, compressed into a solid cake rather than loose seed. Its formulation typically includes a mix of seeds and nuts such as sunflower, peanuts, safflower, cracked corn, plus other grains and seed/nut hearts, all bound together so birds can peck at the cake over time. Shells and seed husks are less likely to scatter under the feeder.

no feeder
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm sure that this item works well if you have a larger cage feeder. however, I can't find the large cake feeder anywhere, in store or online. It is too large for a traditional suet feeder, and has become quite a mess when I try to use it in other ways by hanging or breaking into smaller pieces.

A party in my backyard!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love love love this Woodpecker cake by Kaytee. My backyard woodpeckers seem to love it even more, as they keep coming back for more. Any time during the day I can look out there and see a woodpecker chowing down on this cake. I always make sure I have backup as I don’t want them to be without. Great product, will be repurchasing!!

Woodpecker Cake
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't going to get this particular bird food as I don't want Woodpeckers around our house. I feel like intentionally attracting them is like asking them to wake you up pecking when they decide not to leave. That being said- I put this cake out at the back of the yard and it was great. They stopped chasing the little birds away from my other feeder and stayed at the back of the yard to eat. They really liked the food and went through the cake quickly.

Bigger than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have quite a few large woodpeckers that live around our backyard so it’s good to have a few more of these set up all around so they can hang and won’t crowd just one suet cage

Kaytee Woodpecker Cake
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We put this wild bird seed in our backyard and at first we didn’t see any birds for a while, but after some time birds started to come eat the seed. I haven’t seen any woodpeckers yet, but we may not have many woodpeckers in my area.
