[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes for this mount, especially because it’s advertised as MagSafe-compatible. At first glance, it looks sleek and modern, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations in daily use. If your phone is already MagSafe-compatible (like mine), it technically works without the included magnetic adapter ring—but the magnetic connection feels noticeably weaker than with Apple-certified MagSafe accessories. Your phone will stick, but not as securely as you’d expect, especially if you’re driving on bumpy roads, have turbulence on a plane, etc. Now, if your device or case isn’t MagSafe, you’ll need to use the included magnetic adapter ring. This is where things really fall apart. The adhesive on the adapter ring is VERY weak. After just one use, literally the next time I pulled my phone off the mount, the entire ring came off with it. I made sure to follow the instructions and let it set properly, but it still failed. Also, in terms of versatility, you only get one magnetic adapter ring, which feels like a miss. It would be much more practical if the product came with a set of two or three rings, especially for people who want to use it across multiple devices or cases. As it stands, if the adhesive fails (and based on my experience, it likely will) you’re out of luck. On to the sturdiness and portability…it’s certainly small enough to be easy to bring in your carry on bag, but the mount itself does feel cheaply made. It’s mostly plastic, and adjusting the angle is difficult because the joints are very stiff and don’t move smoothly. It’s frustrating when you’re trying to quickly reposition your phone and it feels like you’re going to snap something. While the concept is great and it technically works, the poor adhesive quality, weak magnet strength (compared to genuine MagSafe), subpar quality and lack of extra adapter rings really drag it down. I wanted to love this, but it missed the mark for me.
