It holds my husband's Samsung phone which is pretty big. There are these little foam pieces to keep from sliding and scratching surfaces. Needless to say, we are very happy with this product!

Of course it holds my phone but I really wanted it for the iPad. I had been using a pillow which is OK for use on my lap, but this works so well on my table!
