A perfect solution

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm someone who prefers to mulch when cutting the yard and this mulch kit has been a perfect solution for mulching. It was very easy to install and it fits like a glove. It performs exactly how you'd want it to as the grass clippings are mulched up to little pieces. I highly recommend this kit for anyone who prefers mulching.

Too much rain isn’t always a blessing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m 75 and doing things in the summer outside are getting harder and harder to do. I bought the z248 two years ago and have enjoyed it and the job it does. But, this year I’m not mowing as often and Oklahoma has been setting records for rainfall. My guess has been too high for too long and keeps leaving piles from my discharge in rows all over my yard. By adding the mulch kit to my routine I’ve never had a better looking yard. The blades are amazing and leave my yard looking a golf course.

Made well product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to make this work even though I ordered it correctly. One of the rubber attaching straps was the correct length, but the rear strap needed to be between 4 and 5 inches longer. I had to fabricate a longer attaching point to my mower deck.

It appears it will function well for what is intended. It does require two bolts inserted from the underside and fastened in place with large hand tightened nuts. Not something you want to remove and replace frequently. The blades are nice but overpriced.

I ended up buying a second one because the first one broke on the first use. The second one broke on the first use too. Junk, come on Husqvarna you need to do better!

Great for completely dry grass

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the mulching kit in June of 2025 right after purchasing a new Husqvarna MZ 48 ZTR mower. The kit was somewhat difficult to install as I didn't remove the mower deck from the chassis. Instead, I jacked up the front casters and installed the components from below and worked mostly upside down/on my back. The blades were simple enough to replace, however the deck guides needed a little force to align the nuts and bolts with the predrilled holes in the deck. Operationally, the mulching kit works great on completely dry grass as long as too much is not cut. If too much grass is cut or the grass is wet in the slightest, the grass bunches up under the deck and prevents the blades from turning at their highest speed.

Poor design on retainer

Deceptive, false advertising. Do not buy

It’s misleading to advertise the product with components that aren’t provided. Definitely not worth the price for just three blades and a flimsy side cover—you’re better off finding a more affordable kit elsewhere.

Plastic cover is GARBAGE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put the mulching kit on last weekend and mowed without issue! Today 8/25/24 it picked up a small rock and shattered the plastic cover! I DO NOT recommend you get this! The cover should be made out of the same metal the deck is! The plastic shot everywhere and I'm lucky it didn't hit me in the face! Very dumb idea to use cheap plastic. I do like the way the mulching blades work! Until it's metal DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
