Q: How do you remove the safety cover?

A: Those three little things that slide back and forth (two on one side and one on the other) pop them out with a screwdriver, butter knife, or whatever you can get your hands on. They pop out super easy. Yes, you will be able to plug your things into it, even if it looks questionable.

So safe that it's unusable
I’m glad I’m not the only one based on the reviews.. I absolutely cannot take off the safety cover. I guess I should have read the description more closely, but I did not realize I was perching a cord with a safety cover. This was not what I was trying to buy. I just wanted a regular extension cord. I have slid the little things on the cover in every possible combination of directions, I have chipped, my nails I have tried to screwdriver everything it simply does not come off. There must be something I am missing, but why would it not include directions on the packaging then?! I guess I will be returning this, but it is frustrating to even have to waste my time to do so

This product is marketed with basic specs 16 AWG wire gauge, 13 Amp capacity, 2-conductor setup, and a one-year warranty but none of these matter when the fundamental usability of the cord is sabotaged by its own design. Engineering Flaw: Irremovable Protective Cover What stands out immediately is the design of the outlet section, which features a cover so tightly sealed and seamlessly molded into the main plug unit that it's practically impossible to remove. There is no discernible seam, latch, tab, or groove that would typically signal how the cover can be safely detached. This appears to be a deliberate manufacturing decision, not an oversight. Regardless of the method used flathead screwdriver, pry tool, or even light hammer taps the plastic bends, cracks, or permanently damages the outlet module underneath before any progress is made. The structure is effectively welded together, indicating the parts may be injection molded as a single conjoined unit or pressure-sealed post-assembly with no disassembly in mind. This results in a situation where nothing can be plugged into the supposed "3 outlets" because they're effectively sealed shut. I will be contacting the store manager at Target to raise this issue, and I urge other consumers to report similar problems if encountered.

Standard Reliable Extension Cord
This is a pretty standard extension cord. I found it initially slightly tricky to remove the plastic pieces covering the extension socket. Other than that it's been working solidly and reliably for us since installation. In the photo you'll see I've used it to power a lamp on our trail mix station.

Deal Worthy 6ft 3 outlet extension cord
This six foot extension cord from deal worthy is great for many indoor applications. As long as what you are planning to plug into it has two prongs, it may suit your needs. There are three outlets on it and I am guessing that the plastic tabs which slide to block the outlet that it is a childproof feature. This is likely not meant for heavy duty applications. All in all, if you are in need a reasonably priced extension cord this one from deal worthy may be just the thing for you.

Nice extension cord with safety covers.
This extension cord is exactly what I needed! I like the built-in safety covers on the three outlets, which is an awesome safety feature. The six-foot cord is also a perfect size, it’s long enough to provide a little extra reach but not so long that it becomes a tangled mess. Plus, it’s ETL certified, so I can rest assured that it’s safe to use.

It’s an extension cord
This black deal worthy extension cord is 6’, and it works as most extension cords should. I do like that you can close where the plug goes if not using it. I feel that could make it safer. It is just a basic extension cord.
