House of Flame and Shadow Crescent City - Target Exclusive Edition by Sarah J. Maas Hardcover

Lack of 5 stars is due to the fact that I ordered the exclusive and received the regular edition. Wear and tear from delivery box included for free. Sigh.

The book itself is amazing. The advertisement that it was a “target exclusive edition” was false and it was just the regular copy. 3 stars for the book, -2 for false advert.

Other reviews here stated that they received their copy damaged but I disregarded until mine came damaged as well. When packaging the packing tape was attached to the cover of the book instread of the packaging itself and when I opened it the whole thing ripped. It is also sticky down the whole spine from the tape. Very annoying since I am now displaying a damaged book on my shelf that looks second hand when it is actually brand new. I don't know whether to try to return it and obtain a fresh copy or not.

Novel itself is fantastic… book binding on the other hand is cheap.. 4 days into reading the book and the binding snaps off..

I love SJM but this whole series is a miss. It’s so overly complicated and everyone has multiple names I can’t remember who is who (and I’m not stupid I promise). If you love SJM skip this series

I ordered the TARGET EXCLUSIVE but i received the regular one, no exclusive content EVEN THOUGH I ORDERED THIS EXACT ONE. Anyways target approved a replacement buuuut if they already sent the incorrect one I have little hope they'll send the right one. Also, they didn't even package it right, no protection, just threw it in the box and said "it's in gods hands" Short story DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ITEM WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT!

What’s there not to like? Mass simply can’t miss!

I ordered this book online and did not receive the target edition. I received the regular edition with no target exclusive writing. On top of that the box the book came in was open and did not include any bubble wrap thus the corners and book sleeve are damaged.

Was it better than the last two books yes. SPOILERS Was it copy paste of throne of glass but make it adult also yes. Also I don’t see how she could possibly write another book in series she literally tied everything up in a bow. Hunt and Bryce are still cringey and I stand by that she would have been 10x more the fmc if she’d ended up on her own. This whole book for them was literally just a copy paste rowaelin also I forgot they were married like I literally thought he was just calling her wife as a cute pet name. The spicy scenes were cringe and the carrcanam scene was direct copy paste and yet I hated it for them and loved it in throne of glass ruhn and Lidia were perfect and their scenes were not cringe so idk why hunt and Bryce like make me wanna vom. I liked ithan’s story line I predicted that a while back so glad it finally came to fruition. Then tharion was there not sure why we had to endure his chapters. Lidia and the Nesta/ Az carried most of the book ALSO THANK GOD MY THEORY OF IT BEING A HERCULES RETELLING WAS CONFIRMED Actually no I’m not done yet naming this book after Aelin is actually CRIMINAL you don’t summon a queen of that many names to then not even have her on a single page.

One of the best books i've ever read to this day

I SPECIFICALLY ORDERED the Target version for the Ruhn and Lidia chapter, and got the normal edition in the mail. I am extremely annoyed, and judging by what others have said in their reviews, I shouldn't count on getting the Target version if I ask for a replacement.

LOVE how it looks and it’s great that the dumb target exclusive sticker comes off and leaves no residue

Really not happy my book arrived so banged up! I could return but since this is a limited edition of this book I'm afraid I won't be able to replace it. And returning is such a hassle. Probably won't be ordering books from here anymore.

I ordered this and received the regular copy instead of the edition with the bonus chapter. I returned it to the store and the cashier even said it's the wrong skew number. They shouldn't be filling the orders with the wrong book. I love Target but I'm very disappointed.

Was sent the wrong version of this book three different times. I ordered the exclusive version and have only ever received the non-exclusive. I’m positive the book itself is great as all of Sarah’s books are and I can’t wait to read the bonus chapter! I won’t know till I get the one I’m actually ordering though!

I loved the book preordered last year specifically from target so I could get the bonus chapter it offered.. however I don’t have the bonus chapter ?!!!

The product is exactly as described. In great condition with no imperfections. It was shipped and arrived in a timely manner. The book and series as well as other series by this author are a great!
