I had to set this curling iron to the hottest setting it would go just to get a curl. After getting my hair to curl and look cute, the curls fell right out. It literally took me longer yo curl my hair than the curls lasted. Not worth the money.

I have a smaller barrel and wanted to try out a bigger one (1 1/4") to get more of the loose beach curls. I like the digital controls it makes it easier to get to the temp I want. This has definitely turned into my go-to curling iron!

I also love that the cord swivels so it makes wrapping her so easy with no tangled cord problems. It glides on the hair so smoothly when unwrapping and provides the right amount of curl as well. It leaves my hair soft and shiny and you don't need to turn the temperature up too hot to achieve great curls. I love that you can set the temperature by turning the base of the wand and also that you can lock the temperature in so you don't accidentally change the setting while styling your hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far styling with the Hot Tools pro artist black gold curling iron has been easy and has resulted in lovely tousled soft waves with little effort. I have longer hair and figuring out the heat level and timing to get the style I wanted was also fairly easy. The nine foot cord gives you plenty of leeway to work with and because it is a swivel cord there is much less tangling, a plus for me. It heats up quickly and has a nice easy to read temperature dial which you can lock into place which is important to me as I have finer hair which can burn at higher temperatures even though I use a heat protectant. I find when using a styling cream the waves do last longer but this would depend on the type and texture of your hair. Nice design and results.

I have decided to give a curling iron a try to see if I get a different result. The design is perfect for beginners. I like that the clip/clamp part is the entire length of the barrel. Sometimes it’s only about half the length which makes it more challenging. I’m also a sucker for clever design so I love the way the temperature adjusts. It’s like a secret hidden feature. The end of the handle is actually a knob that that you turn. You will see the temperature adjust on the digital display. I’m looking forward to using this curling iron more and getting the hang of it!

It’s great quality like I’ve come to expect from hot tools but what sets this iron apart is how nice and expensive it looks! It’s matte black with gold details and a digital display and a huge clamp button!! I’ve used it for a while the black doesn’t show hairspray buildup! It gets PLENTY hot enough! I got a new display in my bathroom so I wanted to have nice looking tools since they can be seen and this is perfect for that! Curls great curl stays all day! The barrel is long enough for long hair which I love also!! Great product can’t recommend enough!!
