Harbor King Bed with Upholstered Headboard, Blonde/Swiss Coffee (MD2411-01)

The instruction manual claimed it was a 2 person job, challenge accepted, and success! This is very doable for 1 person (30-year-old woman) and a very helpful german shepherd supervisor. The instructions were easy to follow and dummy-proof meaning the chance of putting the wrong pieces together or going in the wrong direction are not likely. The entire process took approximately 2 hours without taking any breaks. The one flaw the packaging has is there are no extra pieces -- so if you lose or damage one there aren't any backups, so just be very organized and take your time. The quality is very high-end, it is easy for 1 person to move and adjust, the mattress fits snug in the frame and keeps the bedding in place, there is not any creaking or squeaking it is one solid piece, and there is plenty of room for under-the-bed storage if needed as there are only 3 support legs down the center of the frame. The shipping was very quick, took less than 1 week.

The style is perfect, however the bed is so squeaky. I can’t move a bit because the sound is horrible. It sounds like its going to break.

I had such high hopes for this bed, it is beautiful but as well made as it seems at first glance, the bed frame will not stop creaking every time I gently roll over. It was also incredibly difficult to put together and the included Allen key screw driver got stuck in every hole and eventually the tip broke off in one of the screw heads and is permanently stuck in there (and we couldn’t tighten it all the way - but that’s not even where the creaking is coming from). Overall very disappointed and will be returning this item.

The overall “look” was deceiving, as the quality was less than desired for the price. Screws were stripping and hard to install given the preset holes and positions. After 5 hours of assembly, we had to return it as it just would not go together. Very disappointed as the price indicated it would be a higher quality item. There were also dings and dents on the wood frame pieces that would be seen.

I absolutely LOVE this bed. I've had it for about 2 weeks now. It's sturdy and very solid. If you're a fellow single girly pop and worried about assembling this bed by yourself, I managed to put it together by myself in a few hours. The only issue I ran into with assembly (and still potentially have) is the wooden block that seats the metal rail on the front frame isn't attached very well. I think it's held to the frame with staples? Needless to say, it took almost nothing for it start detaching and now it's not attached at all :') I think there's enough reinforcement with the slats and metal bar so that it shouldn't be an issue (especially considering the fact that I am a 32 year old woman and I'm not jumping on the bed), but I did go ahead and submit a claim just in casies. Other than that, this bed is perfect.

We did have some dark black streaks in our finish though. The quality overall is nice and we love that it is solid wood. We did have some alignment issues during assembly which was frustrating. Overall I would say we are happy with the bed, but if I could still return it I probably would just because it is very tall once you get a mattress on this bed frame. With the too tall of height and the frustration with assembly I probably would not purchase this bed again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The blonde wood color is gorgeous and the bed is very sturdy. My only complaint is that the fabric does not cover the whole headboard. If the headboard came completely covered with the fabric, this bed would be 5 stars. I am afraid that over time the fabric will come undone since it’s really only being held by Velcro.

The bed is great once it is put together but it was a bit difficult to put together. The directions were great but getting the last corner of the bed together was challenging. You practically needed three people so you could get the bolts in place.
