Good book but screen the stories first before reading to toddlers

Great to have a book full of women for kids to look up to, but a warning for parents of young kids — the first night we picked up the book, my 3 year old picked 2 stories that talked about or showed an image of amputees. Took a while to get my kid to sleep after learning they could get sick one day and need a doctor to cut off parts of their arms and legs. I like that the stories show diversity and bedtime was a hard time to introduce that concept. Maybe a book for older kids.

Great Empowering Book for All

This makes a really nice gift for young girls. A nicely bound quality hardcover book that can be passed down. Each woman is featured with a one page story and a beautiful illustrated portrait from a variety of female artists throughout the world. This book features a variety of women and girls of different backgrounds, and we have found it best to read along with our daughter to add our own commentary or to use it as a starting point to research more about some of the women we want to learn more about. Ages 6-12+
