A: I avoid dairy (cheese, milk, all of it) but I made an exception when the ingredients changed on these chips. Fortunately, they don't seem to impact me, so it must not be much. But that is just my experience. If you really can't eat dairy be careful.

Some may have dairy from the fat they use, like butter, but this product uses cocoa butter, which is the oil extracted from the cocoa. So no worries!😄

These look great on cookies. The quality is top notch, and the packaging is elegant. But they burn so easily and not consistently. Not my favorite but get the job done. Also very grainy. Like stale chocolate

Perfect for my at home bakers
I used these Ghirardelli chocolate chips in my homemade cookies and WOW… life-changing. They melt perfectly and are so fresh without turning into a weird chalky mess, and the flavor is super rich without being too sweet. My cookies came out with those glossy, gooey puddles of chocolate you see on Pinterest, and everyone loved them! These chips seriously leveled up my whole recipe! My kitchen smelled like a bakery! 100/10 recommend

These chips are definitely a 5 star item, however the packaging by Target is usually disappointing. I wish they would at least place these in a separate bag or container because at least half the time, one or more bags of chips arrives split open. Everything now is being tossed into the same shipping carton, with no packing material at all. But these chips are great when they arrive in good condition.

Surprised and disappointed
I usually get the Ghiradelli chocolate chips in the yellow bag, or their chocolate chunks, but they were out, so I got these. I melted them with cream as usual to make a ganache, and was totally surprised by the taste. It just didn't taste like chocolate. It was the right color but missing that addictive flavor that makes you want more. In fact, that bowl of ganache is still in my fridge and I haven't even been tempted to taste it. The texture is weird too, pasty and just not smooth. I'm nervous now because Ghiradelli has been my go-to for baking chocolate for decades. I just ordered their yellow bag after throwing this one away, hope it's stil good! I feel bad leaving one star, but I've never been unable to eat chocolate chips before.

We eat it to feel like we're not eating candy... even if we're still kind of eating candy lol But it has less sugar, more good stuff (flavanols with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties), and a tiny boost of caffeine so it seems like a good alternative to a traditional chocolate bar.
