A: The candle inside is a wax candle. When you light it, the LED lights light up. It’s really pretty lit up, but it’s not the flameless led Target is advertising.

A: Cerise, you do not need to purchase batteries~you light the candle wick and the clear wick next to it will activate the LEDs...

Q: How do you keep using it after the candle is burnt up?

A: Hello Unicornsk8r - We appreciate your interest for this item. After the candle is burnt up, you can clean and reuse the glass jar for various purposes, but the LED feature will no longer work because it relies on the heat from the burning wick to activate. Q: Once the candle is through burning can you put a tea light in it to keep the candle part? Seems like such a shame to throw it away after burning, it’s a beautiful candle.
