Works at Sea
It does what it says, off shore communication was smooth and easy, works well with a smart phone which makes it much easier.

Great device
I love this device. I am doing a long distance hiking trip and it is great to know that I can let my partner and friends know where I am even without cell coverage. Just makes those lonely scary nights feel better.

Worth every penny!
Took my in reach on a hunt for 10 days in Montana in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and was able to keep in touch so well with my family that it didn’t even feel like I was out of phone service. I was also able to keep track of up to date weather forecasts to plan out our days. This thing was worth every penny and it will be an item that I never leave at home!

Would not leave on an outing without this device. However, one better learn the nuances of this device because it is not intuitive...other than the SOS button, which in the end is the ONLY reason to own it.

Doesnt wor in Western Washington
Definitely easier to use than my in reach mini was but it pretty much useless here in western Washington state. You cant rely on it to save you here, I can't send out texts so I'm guessing an SOS wouldn't go out either. I think you have to be above tree line or in the dessert for it to send and receive messages.

Perfectly built device with the right technology
It has performed perfectly on all testing I've done. I strongly recommend get one, peace of mind, lifeline, or a simple "miss you" This device was purchased under two circumstances. 1 My cell phone carrier is Verizon, some months back the service dropped out for over ten hours. I can't not be in touch with family in these troubled times. The In Reach Mini 3 guaranties I'll have the ability to do so. 2 I run Urban and Outdoor Survival a survival group I established in 2019 - teaching survival skills, many of training sessions are off grid deep into the back country. The In Reach Mini 3 is our lifeline in the event of emergency.

I like the unit but the service is a bit expensive considering I have star link on the boat, and the monthly cost is about the same. I get much more use out of that. I also have an epirb so the mini is a bit redundant.

Upgrading from my original delorme inreach. Smaller lighter and a touch screen, seems to have much better reception as well it fits the bill for my needs.

This Is An Amazing Update!
I’ve upgraded from a Garmin InReach Mini gen 1 that I’ve had for many years. It was time to get a much needed upgrade. I’ve been out multiple days with the new Garmin InReach Mini and so far I love it. I love the touch screen features and it’s easy to use. Messaging is easy and it goes out much quicker. The battery life is great, it seems better than my older unit. I had to download the new Garmin Messenger (I had Garmin Earthmate) so I’m able to use my phone to send my messages but you can send it through the device. Be aware that if you’re upgrading and have an older subscription, you will need to change your subscription to a current one. I was on an older plan so I needed to update that as well. I’ve sent a picture message but I believe the recipient must have Garmin messenger as well. The unit is a little bigger but that’s ok, it’s one awesome upgrade and I’m glad I have it.

Excellent upgrade from the mini 2 and 67i
Significantly quicker responsiveness, messages seemed to go through faster even in a heavily wooded area. No issues with location or navigation when paired with the explore app on my phone. I’ve yet to find anything negative about the device. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone going somewhere with limited or no cell signal. Setup and syncing with my phone and Enduro 3 watch was a breeze. Can’t wait to get back out on the trails and really put it through the paces.
