About the Book
Jule longs to find his place in New York City's dance scene. The establishment thinks their ballet is vulgar, and his coworkers come from different worlds... but that's nothing compared to his conflict over the romantic attention of premier danseur Lucas.
Book Synopsis
When brilliant, highly disciplined young danseur Jule Parry leaves England to audition in New York, it's expected he'll join the most prestigious company around. Instead, he finds himself a member of a young, nontraditional company that ruffles the feathers of the ballet establishment.
Jule is sheltered and naïve, and despite his excellent training, the sudden changes in his life throw him off balance. The establishment thinks his company's bold new ballet is "vulgar," there are problems with funding, and he and his coworkers seem to come from different worlds.
However, Jule's professional turmoil is nothing compared to the confusion caused by the romantic attention of handsome premier danseur Lucas Madding. With Lucas's help, Jule is eager to find his place in this strange new world, but he's struggling. It will take all his talent, training, and heart to survive a season in the NYC ballet scene--and Lucas is intent on stealing his heart away.
About the Author
Connie Bailey is a Luddite who can't live without her computer. She's an acrophobic who loves to fly, a faultfinding pessimist who, nonetheless, is always surprised when something bad happens, and an antisocialite who loves her friends like family. She's held a number of jobs in many disparate arenas to put food on the table, but writing is the occupation that feeds her soul.
Connie lives with her ultralight-designer husband and Ickle Thelma the Wonder Whippet at a small grass-strip airfield halfway between Disney World and Busch Gardens. Connie enjoys painting, photography, and yard work. Logic and reality have had little to do with her life, and she likes it that way.
