Stranger Danger
'Five Star Stranger' by Kat Tang captured my interest with the concept of a 'stranger for hire'. Living in a rural nonprogressive area of the country, I had never been exposed to the concept of renting someone as an extra body for a function let alone as a fill-in Dad. Of course I then had to Google to see if this is really possible and it seems to some extent at least in New York City it is. Go figure. For the most part, I enjoyed the book and following 'The Stranger's' work duties.I was not surprised by the relationship glitch with his 'daughter' but was caught off guard by the evolution of some of the other business encounters. Overall I wasn't that satisfied with the ending. I guess you could say I wanted 'happily ever after', but given the momentum of the early chapters, I expected the resolution to be a bit more dramatic. I liked the story because the timeline was linear and told from only The Stranger's point of view. Overall, I would give the book four stars and would recommend it.
