Good but not as durable as earlier version

I have been using an earlier version of one of these AM/PM containers, produced by Apothecary Products, Inc. The newer version uses thinner, less substantial material (see photo). I bought six so that together with my original I can load up a week’s worth. My practice is to completely remove the hinged lid when filling (much easier to place pills) and then replace the lid with proper am/pm orientation. The newer version works…. but lid not as easily removed and replaced. Question the wisdom of saving on material production costs at the expense of functionality.
