Evenflo Shyft DualRide Car Seat Base

Please offer the original base as an option for purchase. We bought this car seat specifically for the feature of being able to separate the wheels from the carrier, but this base doesn’t allow that. We need additional bases for mother, father, and grandparents to carry our baby, and everyone needs to have the ability to separate the two. Clearly, everyone wants the original base, and you are not listening to your customers. It’s already a product that exists as part of the overall carrier package, so just let us buy it! If I had known this didn’t work as it should, I would have bought a different product from the start.

Easy to use. Convenient

This is a scam, this product is not the same that comes with your original dual ride shift stroller. It’s missing two prongs that the original has, that allow it let your separate the seat from the wheels. How are y’all selling this base, when it does NOT work with the equipment you’re advertising it for???? For the price I paid, I’d expect it to function!!! Include photos of the differences in the two bases, and the metal prongs that are missing from this base that the base that comes with the stroller has.

Why is this base not the same as the original? Defeats the whole purpose of the carseat when you cannot take the wheels off with this version.

Absolute joke of a base. Can’t even take the carrier off by its self it only comes off with the wheels. Don’t waste your money it’s an absolute scam. Don’t be fooled by description! Ridiculous there no other option. Evenflow DO BETTER. Why can’t you provide the same carrier that comes with the car seat?? Waste of money.

While I understand everyone's negative views on this base, for me if works since i have the original base installed in my car. However, as many have mentioned, I'm not sure why they couldn't just make the original base as an extra because it does defeat the purpose of getting a stroller/car seat combo. You buy it for that specific reason. Nonetheless, it works for us as my husband never got a hang of the stroller part so it doesn't bother him as much as it would have bothered me. I do think it's expensive. . . .

Love having the extra base just wish they would have made it so the stroller could be left in the base. Also, wish the seat reclined a little, but that’s not necessarily the base that’s just the seat attached to the stroller in the base.

Don't waste your money. The whole purpose of purchasing an additional base was so that we could remove the wheels on the car seat without having to pass the original base from car to car. This accessory base does NOT make it so the wheels can be taken off the car seat. It is extremely frustrating and a waste of a lot of money, especially when you can already secure the car seat with the car's seatbelt and not need a base. What was the point of making an additional base available to purchase if we can't remove the wheels, Evenflo??

Though the Evenflo Shyft Dualride can buckle into the vehicle without a base, the wheel wells built into the base keeps our cars neat and tidy as we travel during our frequent snow and inclement whether days.

Works great, silly it took so long to be released, and the cost is even more ridiculous. But they know we need it. Works as expected though. Haha

I can’t just detach the carseat from the wheels while attached to base which makes it a pain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got the Shyft DualRide car seat/stroller combo I was so bummed there wasn’t a separate base to purchase. I was so excited for this base! Set up was so fast and I love that you can use this base with the wheels off and on. However, my issue was when I had the carseat on with the wheels on. When the wheels are on and it’s on the base, I could not get the carseat to detach from the wheels (I was just trying to keep the wheels on the base). I looked in the manual and it says it is possible to do this, but I tried multiple times and it never worked to detach the car seat from the wheels when locked in the base. It worked fine when I used just the car seat and no wheels. Super bummed this didn’t work as smooth as I had hoped. Great idea but not reliable or as easy as it should be for me to recommend for busy parents. Thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for this opportunity to try it!

Purchased this item expecting to receive a base that would allow you to use your stroller as advertised. Sadly they decided to make the base almost obsolete. You cannot detach the carrier from the wheels which defeats the entire purpose of the stroller. Why not just sell a product that actually works properly which is already produced when you receive your original dualshyft. Was going to return but they also put the return mailing charge on you. Overall very poor experience which is disappointing because I’m a big fan of Evenflo.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The extra base for the Shyft Dualride is a great convenience for families who need to switch between caregivers or vehicles frequently. having an additional base, definitely made transition smoother, eliminating the need to reinstall the main base every time. However, I’ve noticed that the anchor belts tend to loosen overtime, so I make it a habit to check and tighten it at least once a week to ensure my baby is securely fastened. I’ve used the base both ways with the wheels attached and just as a car seat. Personally, I found that is more convenient for us to keep it working as a stroller because we are out of the car and going within seconds. But I appreciate the choice to leave it the wheels if we ever needed. Installing the base was fairly straightforward, but I did run into some challenges using it in a smaller compact car. Due to the size and angle required for proper alignment, the first passenger seat is far forward, which could be inconvenient, especially for taller passengers. In a larger vehicle, this would not be an issue, but it’s something to consider for those with smaller cars. Another ick with having the smaller car and what I was most hesitant about this dual car seat/stroller combo was the fact that the dirty wheels would be inside the car. The base comes with a dirt collector tray which has been helpful to catch the crumbs, but the wheels touch soooo much when going into the car, especially then the center arm rest is down and I am trying to align he wheels to the base. The seat has quite a bit of scuff marks which is a huge bummer! Let’s end on a positive note. The best part about having an extra base is the time and effort we are saving! It’s a huge help during busy days going between mom and dad‘s car. Just click in and out for both cars, just great! Overall, despite the need for occasional anchor belt checks, the overall convenience outweighs the minor adjustments needed. Would I recommend it? Yes, but with a note to check the anchor belt regularly and ensure compatibility with your cars space. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this car seat accessory.

Before receiving this from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, It was very time consuming moving the base from my vehicle to my husband’s vehicle, and we were starting to worry about the carseat messing up the seat from constant friction if we didn’t move the base back and forth. (Not to mention I didn’t feel that safe using only the seat belt path on the care seat.) Now that we have a base for each vehicle it is a breeze switching vehicles. The base is very versatile and allows for easy and quick installation. I love that it has a place that protects the seat from the wheels and dirt etc. It also has two modes where you can use it with and without the wheels. I tested it for both with the wheels off and wheels on but I mainly use my car seat with the wheels because I am always on the go! I would definitely recommend this base if you have multiple vehicles or babysitter, etc. it definitely gives me a peace of mind hearing the click of the car seat into the base and knowing that my baby won’t be going nowhere if we were to have a wreck.

Unlike the primary base that comes with the Shyft DualRide system, this accessory base does not allow you to remove the wheels from the car seat. Additionally, the design of this base is different from the original, which might not be clear when purchasing. The leveling mechanism can also be tricky to adjust properly, and given the price, it feels like it should offer more functionality. Overall, while it can be useful for multi-car households, the inability to remove the wheels and the differences from the original base might make this a disappointing purchase for some. If you’re expecting a seamless duplicate of the primary base, this may not be the best. I will continue trying to make use of this as it has potential.
