As a result of both his political reputation--destroyed by false charges of Nazism after World War II--and his rejection of avant-garde techniques, the recordings and compositions of Ernst von Dohnányi went largely ignored for most of the 20th century. JAMES A. GRYMES established and maintains the Ernst von Dohnányi Collection at Florida State University. His research on Dohnányi has appeared in Music Clubs Magazine, Studia Musicologica Academiae Scientarium Hungaricae, and Music Library Association Notes, and he is currently completing what will be the first biography of Dohnányi in English.
