The Ember mug is highly appreciated for its ability to keep beverages warm for extended periods, making it a favorite among coffee lovers. However, many guests have expressed concerns about the durability of the charging coasters, which often fail due to design flaws. Despite these issues, the mug's functionality and the convenience of having multiple charging stations are highlighted as significant benefits, enhancing the overall experience for users.

Good Mug / Bad Charger
I loved the mug while it functioned. But, at barely a year old, the coaster is not working. One charging pin is worn and doesn't make contact with the cup. Very disappointing.

Seemed like a good idea
I did have a charging coaster where one of the pins broke. It seems like a good idea to have an extra. Can also use it in my office

Charging coaster - a weak point
The charging coaster is a weak point from my view. I received the Ember cup as a gift and have enjoyed it. I am now needing to buy my second replacement coaster. The pins in the base stop connecting and seem to get stuck in the base and stop extending out enough to charge. I am presently deciding if it is worth it to invest in another charging coaster

Not cost effective
I love my Ember cup but this is the third charging coaster that I've purchased ($120 total). Have there been any improvements in regard to this problem? I want to keep using my Ember cup but may have to look for alternatives if this coaster malfunctions.

Charging Saucer pins are the Fault to the Mug
I’ve bought my wife three of these mugs over the years. Love the mug, however the charging saucer’s two pins are a not a very durable solution. I’ve probably replaced the saucer 5 times and I’m in need of another one if I want to continue using the mug. That’s what brought me to your site.

Don’t get the black charge plate
My wife and I both received a charge plate 1 1/2 week ago for our birthdays. Mine was the black charge plate which takes quite a bit longer to charge in comparison to my wife’s white charge plate.

Cool product, bad design. . .
Charging pins will fail and you are stuck having to buy a new puck. I've gone through many of these over the years and have spent more on charging coasters than on the mugs themselves. You're left with an expensive coffee mug when this happens.

Love the mug, but the charging base has flaws
Love the mug, but this will be the 3rd charging base that I’ve needed to get because the pins on the first 2 were defective. Getting the first 2 replaced by Ember was a big deal, as I had to submit photos etc on what the problem was…i don’t think they believed me. In reading many reviews online, I see I’m not the only one with this problem. I’m gonna purchase this one, as I don’t want to pitch the mug in the trash because it was a gift.

Poor coaster charging method.
I have purchased two charging coasters, not as spares, but as replacements, because the charging pins failed. I liked the Ember cup when it worked, but an additional $100 for replacement coasters has reduced my enthusiasm

Does not charge
The metal prongs get stuck in the charging station and will not charge your mug. I have two of these, what a disappointment, when working they are great

Mug is great; charging coaster not so much
I’m buying a charging coaster for the third time because the pins continue to sink and won’t allow the mug to charge. I tried the vinegar trick, but this latest one has a pin that sinks back down as soon as I pull it back up. While I love my mug, spending $50 every year or so is getting old.

The mug is great,
The mug is great, but this is the second time the base charger pins have broken in less than 2 years. I'm debating whether to replace it again.

Great mug, terrible charger
I loved my mug, but this is my second mug and third charger. Three times the charger has gone bad. The pins get stuck and it will no longer charge.

Charging Pins Fail
Expect this charging base to fail just outside of the warranty period. The two pins that make contact with the underside of the Ember mug for charging purposes are a failure point. They are spring loaded, and in my experience the inner pin will recess into the base and fail to pop up. Since two bases failed I have been diligent in cleaning and fully drying the underside of the mug but it makes no difference. A third charger base failed today. The mug and the associated app are great. Just be prepared to replace the charging base to the tune of $40 every year or so.

Charging base could be better made
I love the cup but this is the third replacement charging base I’ve had to buy. The metal nipple on the previous two became defective.

Defective Part
Prong on the charger broke. Love the brand. Quality should hold up better.
