Q: Does this only play a pre-recorded song or is it like a real microphone with the child’s voice amplified?

A: It does not work as a microphone at all. It plays a snippet of the same song over and over.

submitted byXwing679 - 6 years agoA: Hi Denise - Thanks for your question! This one button toy is a pretend microphone. The microphone comes pre-recorded with song clips, however, you can sing along to other songs on your MP3 Player or audio device by connecting it with an MP3 Player.
submitted byProduct Expert - 6 years agoA: Ours has two buttons. The top button “amplifies” the kid’s voice (just a bit — mostly you know it is working because of the distortion, but it is recording and coming out the speaker). The second button plays 2 songs — Summer and Let it Go.

A: Just one line of one song...full function seems to be exactly the same as the demo mode.

Q: Is there a way to turn off the microphone without removing the batteries? Even when no one is touching it the songs start to randomly play?

A: Hi Caitlin! Unfortunately, the microphone does not have a dedicated power-off switch. To prevent it from playing randomly, you will need to remove the batteries when not in use.

The toy is not intended for your child to actually sing along. It gives no opportunity for the child to sing. The songs are clipped and only the chorus. On top of it all the toy is incredibly loud with no volume adjustments. Don’t waste your money and save yourself the headache

Knockoff with wrong lyrics but fun
Likely a knockoff. But my kid loves this toy. It has one button for a (lousy) microphone and another button that plays two songs you can sing along with. No volume control, which is on par with being cheap and for kids. But… I’m really shocked that one of the songs uses the WRONG LYRICS! This microphone seems like it doesn’t come from Disney.

It's a no from me, dawg
It’s not Idina Menzel singing, it’s Demi Lavato (and it’s not great). If your kids are particularly fond of “the real Elsa” singing, this won’t be for them. There are only 2 songs: “Let It Go” and “In Summer” It’s LOUD. Like painfully loud. I put some scotch tape over the speaker holes to muffle it a bit, because even the kids complained about the volume (which is NOT adjustable). The microphone allows you to sing along, but you can’t hear anything over the soundtrack playing. If you’re singing without the soundtrack, you have to hold the mic right in front of your mouth for it to pick you up—and even then it’s pretty quiet. For the price, I guess it’s okay. My almost 3 year old enjoys it. My 6 year old won’t touch it because she can’t hear herself singing.

Kids love it parents do not
My 1 year old and 3 year old love this. However it just sings the same 2 songs over and over there is no feature for them to say anything into it. Gets annoying really fast.
