Cute Magnet
Overall this is a great way to keep track if the dishes are dirty or clean in a house with multiple people (or if you're just forgetful 😉). I really like the slider design compared to the old flip magnet for clean/dirty since the laminated paper on the magnet started peeling off within a few months from constantly being flipped over. My only complaint about this slide one is that it feels like cheap plastic that will easily fall apart if dropped and has rough plastic edging on the part that faces the dishwasher. I use a little piece of paper that runs the length of the magnet to help keep it from scratching the stainless steel in case it slides around.

My husband stumbled upon this online and proposed we give it a try, especially since our dishwasher doesn't give any indication whether the dishes are clean or dirty. Yes, he's been guilty of putting dirty dishes into the clean dishwasher, so this has been a lifesaver. It's incredibly easy to use, large enough to read at a glance, and eliminates all guesswork about the status of the dishes. However, it does require you to move the sign, so it's only effective if you're diligent about it. The magnet has a strong hold, but it also comes with adhesive for those who prefer to use it—I opted not to. I highly recommend it!

Super convenient
Being diligent about sliding it to "DIRTY" while filling the dishwasher, then to "CLEAN" when starting the dishwasher, and only moving it back to "DIRTY" after emptying the dishwasher, completely eliminates confusion. One thing I've always disliked is someone opening the dishwasher and taking out an item without emptying it, leaving uncertainty about whether everything is clean or dirty. This magnet removes that uncertainty entirely. In my opinion, it should come standard on dishwasher doors straight from the manufacturers. The magnetic back adheres well to my steel door, and there are adhesive pads provided for washers without a suitable metal surface to stick to. Overall, it's a worthwhile purchase, and I highly recommend it.
