Q: What are Sous Vide bags made of?
A: Hello Suze! Thank you for reaching out with your question about the sous vide bags used with your crock-pot 6qt programmable slow cooker with sous vide (oat milk ivory). You mentioned wanting to know what sous vide bags are made of — and that’s an important detail for safe, long-term cooking. Our note from the reply: sous vide bags are typically made from food-grade polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), or a multi-layer combination of the two. These materials are chosen because they’re heat-stable, BPA-free, and safe for low-temperature water-bath cooking. If you ever choose third-party bags, we recommend confirming they are labeled: • Food-safe. • BPA-free. • Designed for sous vide or temperature-rated for at least 185°F (85°C). We’re happy to answer any other questions about using the sous vide function or your slow cooker. Should you need product support or have additional concerns, don’t hesitate to contact our team via our official support page or LiveChat. We’re available Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM ET. Best, Crock-Pot Consumer Care Team.
