  • A: Follow up- had to return this umbrella. The crank is garbage. It kept binding up. Don’t waste your time and money. Should have paid attention to the reviews and bought another brand with a significant amount of positive reviews. Just bought a different umbrella after returning this one.

Item materials are not as described

Item Description indicates - "Sturdy Aluminum Pole & Iron Ribs". The ribs are aluminum. Obviously...Aluminum is not as strong as iron. Also, pulley was not operating properly at first. Seems to be ok now, but concerned about longevity.

For Shade Only

It’s a pretty umbrella, just basic. Besides, for shade I assumed as an umbrella, it would shelter from rain, as well. Nope! (Light-Medium), Rain trickled down and along the supports.

Does not tilt / difficult to open

Umbrella was difficult to open at first, we thought it was damaged and would return. After several attempts it finally loosened up and now opens without a problem. I didn't realize this umbrella doesn't tilt, which was surprising since it was more expensive than the other Costway 9' umbrellas. In the description it doesn't state it didn't tilt, something I must have overlooked. it should be more clear in description that it doesn't tilt. so buyer beware, if you're looking for a patio umbrella that tilts, this is not it. Overall, the umbrella is ok, color burgundy is beautiful and the quality of the fabric is decent. Glad I didn't pay full price, and had gift cards. Otherwise it's way to expensive for what you're getting.

Quality is good

It was a gift for my sister. She loves it, however the top cap fell off after only a week. Of course the umbrella is too heavy to lift out of the base and put the cap back on, so she's using it without the cap. It looks like the cap might screw on but it's hard to tell if you can't see the top of the umbrella.

I love this umbrellas. The quality is good. This covering is light-weight and slightly see-through but give enough shade.??I have not had it long, however, so I cannot say how long it will hold up over time, but it has the look and feel of decent quality, much better than what I would normally expect at the price I paid.
