I’ve had this unit for a year and have been disappointed with the thermostat and noise level. It creates a lot of noise and takes a looooong time to heat up my bedroom that is about 400sqft, so I would say it’s a bit of a stretch to say it’s rated for a 450sqft space

You get what you pay for
I think this air conditioner will work. But it took some doing. Getting the window vent assembly to fit my very standard window took some nailed-on wood blocks and some self-tapping screws to hold it in place, some duct tape to cover a gap where the window frame and the plastic vent holder come together. Plus, while I am grateful for the dehumidifier (humidity is a major discomfort factor where we live), this unit has no removable water collection pan, so to empty it you must disconnect the air vent hose and move the entire unit to someplace where the floor-level drain can empty. I have chosen to elevate the unit by 18 inches so I can drain the water into a pay without moving the unit. If I were not handy and did not have a selection of tools to hand, I would have been disappointed in this product. If you purchase it, be prepared to put some elbow grease into making it work right for you.

Hard to install
My window measures 27". It did NOT fit and I was not able to secure it properly. Also the ventpipe did not attach to the unit. Unfortunately I had to return it,

Quietest air conditioner

Nice Portable AC
This portable air conditioner arrived very promptly and was pretty easy to set up. I only had to use it once so far and it worked fine. I was grateful for the plastic straps that were placed all over the outside of the box because they made it so much easier to get the unit in the house and up some stairs.

Good unit overall, but not very bedroom friendly...
This it the 4th portable AC unit I've owned in the past 15 years. This unit is pretty good overall, but in my opinion it is not very bedroom friendly. The reason is that there is no constant-on fan mode while in cool mode. Therefore, the unit will cycle on and off all night while you are trying to sleep and this is not very sleep friendly. The white noise of the fan is comforting and then, all of a sudden, it turns off and its quiet. Then, soon after that, it cycles back on again. There have been times when it literally turned off for 2 seconds before cycling back on again. The constant back and fourth will wake you up if you are not yet in a deep sleep. This in the only unit out of the 4 that I have owned that does not have a constant-on fan mode while in cool mode. The second "not so bedroom friendly" aspect is the bright LED display. It will light up your room like a Christmas tree. You can try to cover it up slightly, but the remote control sensor is just below the LED so you don't want to cover it all the way. It would be nice if it had a dimmer. Other than that it's a pretty nice unit. Good price, good cooling capability, compressor cycles on and off fairly quietly, the fan has a nice white noise, the remote is good quality and the unit itself is good quality.
