Since they are applicator-free, the packaging is much more compact and creates less waste, which is great for the planet. They are very easy to use, comfortable, and the 'Regular' absorbency works perfectly for a normal flow. An excellent, conscious, and high-quality choice.

If you're in a situation where you can insert and wash your hands, it's great. If you're camping or have limited access to running water, this wouldn't be the best to use. However, I don't really get out of the house so I can immediately wash my hands after use. I do wish the individual packaging could be recycled or was made of paper.

It also helps to neutralizes the smell of blood not letting other people know you are going through your cycle.

Things are already awkward to reach and no applicator makes it even more difficult to insert or remove. I think an applicator is needed for ease and comfort of application for a wider range of body frames to appreciate.

This company is awesome and there are so many things I like about their values and mission. However, I gave these Cora applicator-free organic tampons 3 stars because they don’t stay in place- at least not for me. When tampons don’t stay in place they end up being uncomfortable. This is not the only brand I have had this issue with, so maybe it’s a me issue- but these won’t be a first choice or repeat buy for me. What I did like is they were easy to unpackage and use. They are also super small and discrete so easy to pack/travel with (fits easily in a Jean pocket). I had no leaks so protection was great. I like that these are 100% organic cotton and they are made cleanly without pesticides, dioxins, fragrance, chlorine and rayon. I also LOVE that for every purchase, the company provides period products and literacy to women who otherwise might not have such products. Yay! Wanted to like these more and look forward to trying other Cora products in the future.

I don’t like the applicator-free version. Makes it so hard to use and I feel like I’m wasting them. Prefer the applicator for sure!

While the absorption is just as good as those without the applicator, and I love the environmental aspect, I think it will take some getting used to how to insert them effectively without a mess especially at the start of my cycle.
