About the Author

Doctor en Historia por la Universidad Católica de Eiochtätt. Profesor en distintos institutos y universidades como en el Departamento de Historia del Instituto de Estudios Latinoamericanos y del Friedrich Meinecke Institut de la Universidad Libre de Berlín. Miembro correspondiente de la Academia Mexicana de la Historia y de la Academia Nacional de Historia de Ecuador, respectivamente, ha sido reconocido con distintos galardones como el Premio Alzate por la Academia Mexicana de Ciencias (AMC), el título de Doctor Honoris causa por la Universidad Nacional de San Martín y con el Einstein Research Fellowship
