Description

The 3.5 TOG Cocoon Swaddle Sack is a zip-up swaddle, used to sleep a baby in, from birth. TOG rated for warmth, the Cocoon Swaddle Sack keeps a baby safe and securely swaddled without the need for complicated wrapping. Being TOG-rated ensures the 3.5 TOG is insulated enough to use in room temperatures between 53-65°F with no blankets required in the bassinet or cot, making this a safe sleep option for a newborn or baby. The chest area is 1.0 TOG rated to prevent overheating and allow for full chest expansion when breathing. Parents can layer up underneath as needed for warmth, and follow our handy FREE room thermometer and what to wear guide included with the product to help them dress their child appropriately. We recommend pairing this with one of our TOG-rated Layers or Bodywear underneath (sold separately). The Cocoon Swaddle Sack features arm poppers at the shoulders, to transition the Cocoon from an arms-in swaddle to arms-out sleep sack when baby is showing signs of rolling. A zip enclosure protects your child's delicate skin, and the soft, breathable natural fibres are certified non-toxic, dyed with water based dyes, and gentle on newborn skin, and skin prone to eczema breakouts. The swaddle is made from and filled with GOTS certified organic cotton, with elastane in the outer fabric and bamboo in the lining. This means it's firm enough to restrict startle reflex whilst still allowing stretch and movement for healthy growth. The stretch allows for added comfort, and for a baby to move its hands into a self-settling position inside the swaddle. The bell shaped design is approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as being hip-healthy, and promotes proper joint development in the hips and shoulders joints. Finally, the two-way zipper makes for quick and easy nappy changes during sleep with minimal disruptions. There are three ways to sleep your baby with the Cocoon Swaddle Sack: 1. Use as a zip-up swaddle by ensuring the arm-poppers are closed. Suitable from birth-rolling. 2. Use with a Butterfly Cardi (sold separately) to create a hands-up sleeping position for babies that prefer this style of sleeping. Suitable from birth - rolling. 3. Use as an arms-out swaddle by opening the arm-poppers and releasing the arms. Suitable from birth - 12 months. The Cocoon Swaddle Sack meets all safety standards in Australia and New Zealand and is reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia as a skin-friendly product

    Warm and cozy

Keeps my baby warm and cozy at night in our cold house. I like that while he’s very little we can use it with the arms closed as a swaddle, and that we will be able to transition him to sleeping with his arms out when he’s ready.

    Superior Quality

Absolutely can not go past these sleep suits - I have them in every option for my children and find them to be very long lasting, and suitable for cooler climates. I love that this style can be arms in, out or butterfly with the cardi - it’s hard to know how your newborn will prefer to sleep so these are perfect.

Runs small. Colour ran in wash on cold cycle

My baby would never accept swaddling so we moved into these straight away. Had a size 000 and has fit him since week 2. These run on the smaller side so our little man has almost outgrown at 6 weeks old. Very expensive but will keep for next bubb. Unfortunately this item ran in a cold wash cycle and now has has stains on it (it was washed wry other tan/beige items). However is not used outside the house so no problem. But be careful on first wash as flour may run

    3.5tog starts 1/3 way down

We bought the ore expensive warmest tog (3.5) for our 3 month old heading into winter, however the warmest/thickest part doesn't actually start until 1/3 the way down where his body is, and so his top half is still cold overnight with just the thinner layer. Disappointed as we have loved ergopouch over the years for all our babies.

    Sizes differ

While I want to love this, we’ve found that the sizes differ significantly. I don’t know if it’s the different weights or some other variation, but the 6-12 mth size cocoon in 2.5 tog fits our baby (some seam coming undone though after only a week or two use), but the 6-12 month cocoon in 3.5 tog is way too big.and the neck and shoulders/arms are loose enough to go up and over her mouth (We’re using both with arms out). I have no idea how they can be so different for the same size cocoon and I’m frustrated by how much buying and testing we’ve had to do. The appeal of these expensive products is their standardisation and implementing for different temperatures across the product range; it’s v frustrating that this doesn’t work like this.

    Great design

So far it is good. I also purchased a 2.5tog. Both for winter. I prefer these over other brands due to the thicker material being on front and back. Others I have used are only at the front.

Perfect for our first camping trip!

We took our little one on her first camping trip at 7 weeks. Needed a safe swaddle that would keep her warm in low 50s (F) temps. We put her in a short sleeve bodysuit, a long sleeve flannel onesie and this and she was perfectly toasty warm and not too hot all night long. Slept 7.5 hrs straight both nights! Couldn’t find many similar products to this, grateful something is made for the under 4month babies!

    Warm, good material

I like the quality of the pouch, nicely made. It wi will however pill on the outside after one wash so do expect that. The neck part does run a bit tight, not sure if my 3 month old just got a chubbier neck. Did wish it was a tad bit looser on that neck part for comfort.

Great but armholes are so tiny

Warm and good quality, but the arm holes are so small for the size range and since the fabric is not super stretchy it’s hard to put my little one’s arms in without causing him discomfort (he cries!!!). I think this is also because the shoulder area is pretty narrow. We sized up too but then it just wasn’t the right/safe fit for his weight. Now we just use it around his feet/torso unfortunately and skip the arms.

    Soft and comfortable

Love the ergobaby swaddle bags! Comfortable and warm for bub. One star removed because disappointingly some stitching near the zip came loose after a week:( I was suprised as the rest seems to be such a well made product.

    The perfect swaddle!

So so happy, been struggling to find a good swaddle/sleep sack for the last few weeks as my 9 week old just never settled and she just hated everything I tried! The moment I put my daughter in this she fell asleep straight away, no fussing, no white noise and no red light, I’m so so happy and will definitely be buying the next sizes as she grows!

    Swaddle and layer suit

Followed the instructions for layering unfortunately for my baby the warmth recommendation wasn’t enough garter spending a fortune this didn’t even get me through the evening with my child waking every hr as he was cold. I was hoping for comfort and ease which unfortunately following the recommendation this was not provided.

    Very tight fit

The quality of the bag is good. However, the fit with the arms closed of the size 0 to 3 month bag is too tight for my 4kg, 6 week old. Even though the sizing says it should fit a 3 to 6kg baby. Which was disappointing as my bub isn't ready for arms out sleeping.

    Good product

Have used many ergopouch sleep suits and decided to use one of these for my newborn. The product is great and keeping my newborn warm all night but the fabric inside is already pilling. Within three nights it already looks old. A little disappointed with that but still happy with the product.

So difficult to get bub's arms out!

I really wanted to love this brand, particularly because they are so pricey, but I don't. I purchased the 3-6 month sleeping bag when bub had just turned 3 months to transition him but had to go with arms out straight away because he couldn't fit into it with one arm. It was way too tight across his chest. So I purchased the 6 -12 month bags. The fit is fine but the arm holes don't seem to be any bigger in the next size up and it is so difficult to get his arms out to take it off him. I feel like his arms are bent in crazy ways just to get it off. Putting it on him is no problem. Then there is the zip always hitting into his chin. Why was the material made wider or thicker so this doesn't happen? Anyway, I haven't used any other brand so cannot compare it to anything, but am disappointed.
