Easily applied to the lash line.
I use this eyeliner in a single tight line along the lash line, not in the waterline, to fill in the spaces between thinning eyelashes. I do this by looking upwards from the mirror, not down towards the mirror surface. This gives me a nice, not overpowering definition, which is what I prefer at age 73. I have had no trouble with the application and find the color lasts. I have three different colors of this product.

Dry and hard to use!
The eyeliner was hard as a rock----I had to push so hard to get even a little amount on my skin that it was painful. I've been a Clinique customer forever and love their skincare products, but I wouldn't buy this product again.

Unfortunately my eyeliner only lasted a week so too expensive for me to keep buying it dried out pretty quickly and kept breaking the tip off trying to sharpen

Flaky and dry
Not having success with the regular eye pencil anymore, I was recommended by the attendant at the Clinique counter to try the "gel" eyeliner, as it goes on smoothly and easily. It didn't. It flaked and was dry and impossible to get on. I enjoy many Clinique products, but not this one. I have switched to Ilia, for my eye pencil and it does the job. The Clinique eye pencil went in the trash. Waste of money,

I don't make a lot of reviews unless I'm just really impressed or really disappointed in something. This is the most crusty, gross, most hard-gliding, cheap feeling eyeliner I have ever used in my entire life. I could've gotten better line with a mechanical pencil.

I really wanted to love this product. The color was recommended for my eye color and if that were the only criteria, it would have passed with flying colors. However, the liner kept breaking, was very dry and pulled the skin on my eyes. I have to be honest. I use to be a hard core Clinique customer but in the last few years, the only product I buy is the exfoliating scrub. The products have become ridiculously overpriced and the quality is mediocre. Very disappointing.

I wanted to LOVE the gel liner…
…and I did on first use! Beautiful color (denim), smooth glide. But when I went to use it again, I found that the cap had come off in my makeup bag. The gel liner had become dry. I tried removing a short segment from the tip, and it was a bit better. I went to use it again today and had the same mishap—the cap had come off the stick. I discovered that I really have to PUSH the cap down hard so that it clicks and stays closed. The gel liner is now pretty dry—but I'm chalking that up to the cap snafu.

Perfect color, but crumbles
I put on the sparkling amethyst and thought this would be my go to eyeliner. But after using it I have found that the tip crumbles very valuable pieces of product fall off. It's really too bad the color is perfect, it looks great on, goes on smooth and stays on, but I can't justify buying an expensive eyeliner that will crumble out of the applicator making it unusable and shortening the life of the eyeliner, meaning you need to buy it more often. It's just not worth it. I really wanted to love it.

I have just bought the beige eyeliner for use on the waterline to open the eye a little but I can honestly say it's pointless. There is no difference at all with using the product. It barely has any colour transfer onto the eye, I'm very dissapointed as my other clinique eye liners are fantastic

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I enjoyed how this gel eyeliner glided easily over my eyes. I was pleasantly surprised by how sweat/water resistant it is and it did NOT SMUDGE AT ALL! I rubbed the product and it stayed intact! I think this eyeliner is a must have in your makeup pouch and the pigmentation is great, real bang for your buck!

Good eyeliner but problem with packaging
I have very watery eyes and this liner stays on longer than most and is easy to apply so would have given 5 stars, but the lid is so hard to get off. If I don't remember to wind the tip down it is knocked off every time I have to tug the top off. It won't last very long at this rate!
