Covered with greasy residue

I bought different sizes of these, and they all came with a thin layer greasy/oily residue. It comes off as black smudges on your hands! I've had to wash them in dish liquid twice, and they're better but still feel greasy.

Are you working out or waiting at discount tires?

Reviews claims that these can be smelly and they are. Not so bad that you smell them all the time but when you are working out, it smells like you are lifting a tire to your face. Other than that, these work fine for low budget dumbbells.
