Bruce Springsteen - Only The Strong Survive (CD)

Great album! Love all the music.

This is a change for Bruce. Instead of an album of new/old songs of the E street band, this is an album of covers from other artists. It's an interesting change for him and he does them well.

... on Springsteen's part, not mine for buying it. If you LOVE Springsteen, you'll love this album. Those of us who merely like Springsteen's music might wonder why he went to the trouble. The arrangements are little changed from the original/hit versions. Some of the songs don't lend themselves well to Springsteen's 73 year old growl. It's nice that Springsteen is highlighting some lesser known R&B hits. But I don't hear any added value here. This sounds to me like an album Springsteen made because he likes to sing these songs and he thought we'd like to hear them too. Maybe once in a streaming special on Netflix or something but as an album it came across as indulgent.

Bruce is a great singer. His music is always great

I enjoyed Bruce singing songs from decades ago which were originally sung by artists who influenced his music.

Bruce's voice has improved with age. So much soul!
