Q: Can this be used as a floor cleaner???
A: Yes, Branch Basics can be used on floors! Ideally, always HEPA vacuum floors, especially hardwood, first or use a mop to remove dust and grime and eliminate potential scratching of the floor when damp mopping. Only very diluted solutions of Branch Basics should be used on floors because a more concentrated solution could break down the finish on hardwood, and too strong of a solution will feel sticky. Always test it in an inconspicuous area before cleaning entire floor, and minimize use of the solution on wood floor by spraying the solution onto a slightly damp mop to clean the floor. The breakdown for floors would be: 1 teaspoons Concentrate per gallon of water (16 cups), ½ teaspoon Concentrate per ½ gallon of water (8 cups), ¼ teaspoon Concentrate per ¼ gallon of water (4 cups), or ⅛ teaspoon Concentrate per ⅛ gallon of water (2 cups). Please reach out with any other questions!

Q: Can this be used to make a hand soap or dish soap?
A: Hi there, yes! Hi! For cleaning dishes, there are a few options. If you want to soak the dishes you can spray about 10 sprays of the All-Purpose solution or add 1 tsp Concentrate into the sink or mixing bowl. Add hot water, agitate to create suds, soak dishes in solution and then wash. Some people prefer to spray directly onto each dish, leave the room while the product breaks down dirt and grime, then return to simply rinse and wipe dishes clean with a scrub brush or sponge. If you have an empty foaming wash bottle you can use 1 part Concentrate to 4 parts water to make a foaming wash for your hands!

Q: Can this be used on a ceramic tile floor with unsealed grout?
A: Hi there, thanks for your question! Yes, you can use the All Purpose Bottle to spray and wipe as you go. You can also use the 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of Concentrate per 2 cups of water if you prefer the bucket and mop method.

Q: Can you use this on marble
A: Hi! Yes! Branch Basics can be used on natural stone like marble. The only caveat would be if you have a sealer that requires a particular pH. The pH of our concentrate is 8.5 +/- 0.5. If you have a concern that requires a particular pH, we recommend that you fill your All-Purpose with water and concentrate and test the pH. Also test an inconspicuous area of your natural stone to see how the product interacts with the surface. It's very rare to hear that a customer has an issue with our formula, but it's always a good idea to test it first!

Q: Hi. I am enjoying your products. Can I use the concentrate to clean a dirty path on a rug? Not with a machine, just the traffic area with the spray and a towel? It's not stained, just dirt. Thanks
A: Hi! For spot cleaning, you can use our All Purpose Solution and agitate with a brush or towel. Always test in an inconspicuous area to see how the product works on the rug, but using the All Purpose to spray, agitate and let it dry should do the job.

Q: Which is the best ratio for cleaning mirrors and windows?
A: Hi there! The ratio is to clean mirrors and windows is 1 drop of Concentrate mixed in a spray bottle with distilled water. That's all it takes! We recommend using distilled water because you are only using a tiny amount of Concentrate. This solution is best paired with a microfiber cloth.

Q: Can this be used on stained concrete floors?
A: Great question! It's always best a spot just in case to see how it reacts. The pH of our concentrate is 8.5 +/- 0.5. Once diluted with water, it is closer to neutral. If you have a concern that requires a particular pH, we recommend that you mix a ratio of 1 part concentrate to 11 parts water and test the pH. Also you can test an inconspicuous area of the concrete to see how the product interacts with the surface. It's very rare to hear that a customer has an issue with our formula, but it's always a good idea to test it first.

Q: Can this be used to wash laminate floors and if so, what would the dilution ratio be? And would the floors need to be followed up with water after to avoid residue?
A: Hi there! Yes, Branch Basics can be used on laminate floors, but you'll want to use only a very dilute solution and it's always a good idea to test it in an inconspicuous place first. The dilution ratio is 1 or 2 tsp of Concentrate to a gallon of water, and there's no need to follow up with water. To avoid soaking the floors, the solution can be added to a spray bottle (or a spray mod reservoir) and just spritz a microfiber mob head to clean floors.

Q: Can I use for sanitizing
A: Hello. Great question! Branch Basics is not a disinfectant, which is actually a good thing. It is important to know that using a sanitizer or disinfectant does not take care of all germs. This has been shown in study after study because the germs have developed resistance and are not killed. In fact, using just plain soap and water, or a cleaning soap product with surfactants like Branch Basics, is much more effective than sanitizers/disinfectants at removing ALL GERMS. We like people to team our product up with microfibers. Microfibers are great, because bacteria has an overall negative charge and the positively charged microfiber grabs hold of the germs and particles and helps remove them from the surface. Our product has surfactants that reduce surface tension so that the cleaner can emulsify, penetrate and loosen dirt, grime, and germs so they can be wiped or rinsed away.
