A: Yes, it has to be active for at least a year on boost before it can be unlocked.

Q: I am currently boost mobile customer with a plan, will the phone works after plug in current SIM card? Thanks!
A: Yes. If you have an active boost mobile sim - you just have to put the sim from your old phone in to the new phone. I have done this several times and it is the recommended procedure.
