We iron clothing frequently and were looking for better performance and found it in this iron! The only suggestion I would make is to make the markings on the dial more visible. It is difficult to see the icons to know which heat level is being selected.

Poor Design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sorry B & D, very poor design. For this I have to give just one star. If you can't add water without spilling everywhere, your steam iron just doesn't work for me. The iron's water well is too dark and you can't see how much water is being added causing you to overfill the iron. I've tried using a flashlight to illuminate the dark plastic water well while adding water and the plastic was still too dark to really see the water. There's too much to control, adding water, holding a flashlight and trying to see the water level is just too much to do to get water in this iron. The position of the temp control dial is always being bumped when in use. These two very inconvenient design flaws will force me to return the iron to the store. I have one question; Did anyone try using this iron before you put it on the market?

Redlight stays on
The guide to this iron says that the red-light indicator is supposed to turn off after it heats up, but it does not. The light stays red from the moment the iron is plugged in until you unplug it. I called and received a replacement but same exact issue. Tried calling again but no help.

A good iron
My old iron was a black and decker which lasted many years. I am hoping this does the same. It irons well. The cons are it is difficult to see the water level as the plastic ? is a gray color. The dial to chose the fabric setting is also difficult to read. It does not light up. (Gray on gray)

Received Used item - rating is for store - not the iron.
The iron arrived with water in the steam tank. Who wants a used iron??? There is zero quality control. On line stores just resending out used returned items to next customer. What a waste of time. Have no idea whether the iron is good or not.

Wish it worked better
I haven’t been happy with my iron. It leaks water from the bottom of the cord and it is so top heavy it falls over. When I’m trying to iron water leaks out the spout you add water. I don’t know if I just got a bad iron or what. I love this brand and I was excited to get this iron.

Why cover the plate with plastic?!?!??!?!?!?
First time plugging it in and iron might already be ruined because someone had the brilliant idea of putting a plastic sticker on the plate. I’d never seen this before or had to read instructions on how to use an iron.

Purchased in 2016; 2 months outside of the warranty it stopped working and will not heat up. I can live with its other annoyances: difficult to see if the water level has reached the fill line, water sometimes sputters out, iron can make a popping sound when heating up to steam can shoot out unprompted -- but I still expected more than two years of light use out of this. Looking at review sites like the Wirecutter, this iron apparently has reliability issues. Black & Decker should recall it.

Stopped heating
This iron was great while it worked, but sadly one day it simply stopped heating. There was no catalyst for this. The iron now turns on but there's no heat or steam whatsoever. Of course, it was out of warranty so I wasn't able to get a replacement. I wanted to post this review to warn other buyers because I would expect an iron to last longer than a year or two, but it seems a lot of products these days are cheaply made and only last long enough for the warranty to expire. It's a shame, as the iron was good while it lasted but this has definitely put me off purchasing any more Black and Decker appliances.

Help!
I bought this iron 3 to 4 months ago and loved it. However yesterday it stopped in the middle of ironing. It will not heat. I've tried everything and I don't know what to do. I'm very disappointed.

Not good for steam ironing
This iron heats up quickly but when it comes to using steam, it sputters out and ruins the fabric. I have to wash out the soiled area which is not only time consuming but very irritating. I've only had this iron for only 6 months and it's not worth the money. I do not recommend this iron.

Why such positive reviews?
I am baffled. Why are people loving this iron? Sure it's sleek and it covers a good surface and it does well around buttons and small areas but it doesn't remove wrinkles! It does very well if you spray and then iron, but I wasn't expecting to spray every inch of a shirt! The spray covers a fair distance so if you want to spray at the top of the shirt, make sure that your iron is towards the bottom of the shirt otherwise you'll get it all over the board and places you didn't want to wet! It heats up relatively quick. It steams when you put your iron down to rest, so be careful. The reservoir is too small, I need to refill with water for every shirt. Inconvenient. I will return and get a professional iron, even if I need to pay double the price.
